That is one terrific looking kid, Russell! And he must be very motivated to put in so much extra time too. You truly have a family to be proud of.

How proud you must be Russell. FIVE HOURS on a Saturday for classes, that's a lot of work and missed cartoons for a youngster to pass up. Shows he has determination and drive. Hope you have a great time in NY. He certainly has great looks. Kudus to you.

Lovely newspaper interview! Your son sure does have his work cut out for him. There's TONS and TONS and TONS of performers out there!

There's also TONS and TONS and TONS of back-stage mammas and pops too!

But not to worry. There always seems to be work too. It just might be performing in East Poedonk for a 50 seat summer-stock theater! :chuckle

Actually, your son seems to have the right "I'll work hard" attitude. He could very well become the next Hollywood or Broadway star!

By the way. . . I didn't know that there were classes on how to keep your hair looking good! :roll

    (He'll probably need it!)

It sounds like TONS and TONS of FUN!!! And a wonderful way to spend one's teenage years!

Good luck to your son and his back-stage pappa!

Russell - Great story and what a great kid you have there. Lots of motivation.

Funny, my 13 y.o. daughter came home the other night and told us she may have changed her mind about becoming a vet (which she has talked about since she was 5). "I want to be an actress". We were a little surprised. She was in plays all through elementary school at a little private school and dance class (jazz, tap, ballet) and then this year transferred to public school and was in "Pirates of Penzance" and loved it. She asked us "where is the best acting school?". Guess I'll have to start looking . . we do not have anything like what your son attends.

Of course I'm hoping she goes back to the vet idea. But you've got to support their dreams. You and your wife are doing a great job.
