I've never been on an official cruise, like with a cruise line. But I've cruised the Bahams with some very wealthy friends. Maybe it was sort of a cruise. We had an entire ship to our own litte group, and it came with a wonderful crew.

It was INCREDIBLE. Beautiful sailing ships, balmy breezes, warm, clear waters, exotic wildlife and flora, music all day and all night. The wondeful, warm, sexy accents of some of the crew.

Oh wait - it was a dream.

No it wasn't - That's the only way I can keep myself from pining for those times! (G) Maybe I'll get to go on the cheapest Princess line cruise for my 30th wedding anniversary next Christmas... Nahhhhhhh

I went on the Carnival Ecstacy two summers ago with my cousin. It was a three day cruise to Nassau, Bahamas. I wouldn't recommend going to Nassau....there are a lot of natives that are waiting to take advantage of you and your American money as soon as you get off the boat. I had to tell these people more than once that I didn't want my hair braided! The boat was nice. After three days I was ready for some different scenery though.

Check on the packages offered for the different cruise lines. Most of the stuff on the boat is included...except for soda and alcohol. Try 3.00 per bottle of Sprite!

Also, go to a travel agent for advice....they don't charge just to talk with you.

The Grand Princess is a wonderful ship, it is part of the Princess line. I took the eastern Carribian tour last year and my daughter just got home from the western. They were wonderful. Not to crazy about one or two of the islands we stopped at but others were wild and wonderful.l

I went on Norwegian Cruise Lines. We went to a private island in the Bahamas that is owned by the line, Ocho Rios Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel Mexico. I had an absolute blast and would recommend it to anyone. I really liked Jamaica though and have talked to alot of people that have gone to one of the all inclusive resorts there. I think that would be fun too...you don't have to spend anything on food or drinks or entertainment once you get there and there are TONS of things you can do!!!

Have a GREAT time whatever you decide!!!!

I agree wit KCCHICK. Avoid Nassau, its dirty and the people who live there are so poor, that they converge on you like flies to braid your hair or whatever. Had one native guy offer to shimmy up a 75 ft palm tree to get my son a coconut. But, other than that, cruises are a great vacation bargain. Especially if you consider that all your meals are inclusive. Whatch out for your bar bill, they will keep a running total for you and it grows very fast. Most cruises are on sale during the winter months and allow you to book dates later in the year so you wont have to pay it all at once.Have fun and remember you scopalamine patch!
