Has anyone seen the movie "Pay It Foreward"

  1. Oh my gosh! Typically I don't care for drama's. But this movie was totally AWESOME!!! It is one of the most unpredictable movies I have ever seen. I was just wondering if anyone else has. If you havn't I HIGHLY recommend it. It will really make you want to do something nice for some one. It has made me in a very PLEASANT mood all day.

Loved the movie. I had to comment though, I hate when people do a teeny tiny favor for someone else and say they are paying it forward just like the movie. It has to be something BIG, or no one will be motivated to pay it forward....

Here's an idea my friend came up with this year at Christmas. In all her cards she included a postcard designed with a note on the back ragarding Payingi t forward. On the card there are several lines of the date and place of the paying it forward. The idea is that you pay it forward, write the date and place and eventually the cards come back full to her. I have already started mine on a journey (I gave a man about 6 cords of wood in a parking lot during our huge power outage when no one had any power and there was absoloutely no wood/kerosene/ etc to be found.) I didn't think it a big thing, but he cried, telling me about his children and wife who were freezing. and he was amazed that I didn't want to make a profit from the wood...He took possesion of the card and who knows whats going to happen?
Who knows, perhaps it will actually create something in the world!

That is a super idea! I'll have to remember it for next year's Christmas cards.

Great movie, touching story and a very precious act on your part! God Bless. We all should be more concerned about building up the world around us and not tearing it down with negativity and good deeds for those having less than us is a great way to start. Maybe we should start a "Pay it forward thread".

Sounds to me like the postcard has lines on the back where each "payer-forward" writes the date and location that they paid it forward. Then they hand the card to the recipient and explain about the card. When the recipient then pays it forward, THEY write on the next line of the card, with the location and date of THAT forward-payment. When the card is full, rather than passing on the card to the next recipient the card is returned to the starter of the card, who has placed their name & address on the postcard before handing it out to the first recipient.

Make sense? It does to me, but I'm not always a good explainer.
