Has anyone ever bit down on something too hard?

  1. ??? This is so stupid; but the other day while studying and watching TV and eating I bit down on my fork...and ouch! No chipping or cracking...but my bottom middle tooth in the front hurts some. Now real bad; like a bruise. I take advil for back pain; but now if I were to push with my tongue against that area or tooth it hurts. There is no redness or discoloring on the tooth at all.

How long should I give this until calling dentist? I'm on a nasty schedual with work and college right now too...have to take a mid term & final all this week....with working nights! (long story).

Anyone else do something so stupid?

lol. I was eating toast while doing something else like watching tv or being on here and I actually bit down on the plate. OUCH! I don't claim to be coordinated. Tooth hurt for about a week.

You should schedule an app't w/your dentist--just to be sure.

    Hi

I think I would schedule an appt. with Dentist. You never really know what might be going on. I don't think you can be too careful.

PS I have bitten down too hard on things, but alas, my teeth are no longer my very own!!!LOL!!

I will tell you that once upon a time, when I had a capped front tooth, I bit into a Chocolate Easter Rabbit that had been in the refrigerator. Unfortunately, I ended up breaking off both front teeth in that rabbit!! NOT A GOOD THING!!

I'd go to the dentist just to be on the safe side.

I used to do this about once a month when I had my tongue pierced.

    Notice the past tense

    Hope it feels better soon!

I do this about once every 3-4 months on the barbell I have in my tongue. For that reason, i'm seriously considering taking it out. It HURTS like heck when I do that and one of these days i'm gonna crack a molar and be mad at myself for the dentist bill...
