Happy Mother's Day! What did your child do?

  1. This morning I was awakened by my sweet daughter, with breakfast in bed!

It was one of the best breakfast ever! I had scrambled eggs, bacon, english muffins, and OJ. Everything was cooked to perfection, and my OJ was in a I LOVE MOM pink and white cup, with flowers, and I LOVE MOM, and sweet words describing mom all over it.

Here is the card I received:

All my life, I 've been able to count on you-
to listen, to understand, to love me,
    even at my most unlovable-

    You're the kind of mother
    other mothers strive to be,
and I feel lucky you're mine.

So, though I may not tell you as often as I should,
don't ever think for a moment
    that I don't appreciate you...
    because--as far as I'm concerned-
    you're the best there is.

    Happy Mother's Day

    From your Loving Daughter

    Talk about being blessed...

So how did your child touch your heart today?

Well my children are still small so I was woken up with the usual smacks on the forehead yelling WAKE UP!!! LOL. But my husband made me breakfast. That is very sweet what your daughter did for you. I would have cried, but then I cry at everything lol. Happy Mothers Day!

I called my Mom and sent her flowers (actually a baby rose bush she can plant outside.) Wish we lived closer so I could hug her in person!

Kelly...My heart was truly touched by her hard work this morning, as you know this is the first time my daughter has EVER really cooked me anything, as she is 24yrs old! She doesn't cook ANYTHING really...except for ready to eat stuff that just needs heating...:chuckle!

But my duaghter does wonderful things for me all the time, but for her to make everything and NOT burn anything...it was just totally amazing to me!! Everything came out picture perfect!

That was very sweet of your husband to make you breakfast.... And the part about getting the usual smacks on the forehead, and yelling WAKE UP.struck me funny...:chuckle! You know they could only do that to their mom... Happy Mother's Day Kelly!

    Nurse Ratched,
That is one the BEST kind of gift a mother could receive! One that she can look at and care for and think of you everytime she does! Well done!

While on a field trip last week, my 12-yr-old son asked another parent to distract me so he could purchase something in a gift shop at the mission we were visiting. I didn't think he had any money left, so I wondered what he would do. This morning he presented me with a metal, bronze-colored medallion stamped on both sides. One side says "Mom, I Love You" with hearts and flowers around, and the other says "Mother, When I think of you, I remember the warmth of your eyes, and the beauty that blooms like a rose, every time you smile." (He admitted after he gave it to me that he hadn't read the poem, just the Mom I love you side. ) Gotta love 'em!! I guess he had just enough money left for this, and of course I'll keep it forever!! -- D

Well, Adam lives across the country in Tucson now, but he did call me first thing this morning, which was sweet, because he doesn't call just to "chat".. too much like his Dad in that respect.. or just a "guy thing". And we chatted for quite awhile ! He did say my card was in the mail.. had purchased one two weeks ago, then had it stuck behind some things on his kitchen counter.. and had forgotten where he placed it !

My daughter called next... she's an hour and a half up the road. She had wanted to come this afternoon, as usual, but I know that her fiances mom would probably appreciate having her son with her on Mother's Day, too... so I told her to go and enjoy the day with his Mom this time...fair is fair.

And Jessie, too has a card in the mail. For some reason, even with teh best of intentions, the kids never seem to get their cards in the mail on time !

But as always.. it's the thought that counts !

So NOW.. I need to call MY Mom !

Have a great one, all you wonderful Moms !!!

My baby boy who is 3, woke me up with a great big hug and says Happy Movvers Day Mommy. And gave me a kiss. My daughter who is 2 does not talk but gave me a great big kiss. My husband works nights and as I was fixxing his breakfast before he got home he walks in the door with my favorite kind of donuts from Krispy Kreme. They also had bought a star in my name. Really cool thing, and a amethyst ring. What a wonderful day. Hope all the other mother's have a great day.

PS My skinking brother out did me with our Mother for the first time. He actually put his family in the car and drove 4 hours to wish her happy mothers day. :chuckle

My older children came yesterday and we had lunch and a very nice time. My 10 year old made me a little gift in art class and got me a pot of flowers for outside. Really thoughtful and sweet. Have a good day everyone.

:imbar I'm guilty of this one! Just dropped my Mom a card this morning. But I did call to tell her how special she is!

My daughter cooked scrambled eggs for me and my toddler son as he was crying "eggies, eggies". She made me sit down, drink a cup of coffee and read the paper. Then she cleaned the kitchen and living room and gave me a beautiful forsythia hanging plant. My older boys and husband are going to barbeque for me . . .it is the first sunny day in a long time and we are taking advantage of it. I've always told my kids the best gift they can give me on Mother's Day IS HELP WITH THE HOUSEWORK! Actually, they do their own laundry and all of them are great cooks (well, except the toddler).
