Hope everyones having a good day thus far.
Today I motivated myself to go shopping for some navy nursing trousers and actually for some - 3 pairs to be exact! AND a nice white fitted shirt to wear aswell so I'll be snazzy for my first day on Friday
The first shop I was recommended to look in was a uniform shop over 2 hours away, but with such RAVE REVIEWS from my aunty I just HAD to go.
Well, after braving the traffic I finally arrived and the shop assistant lady barged up to me pushed me into a changing room. I said i was after a navy pair of nursing trousers and she brought me the most high waisted (yes, OVER my belly button - aka I dream of Jeannie style) PLEATED trousers with stretchy ELASTIC on the sides. I'm shuddering by now, but things were to get worse.
She UNZIPPED the trousers that i was already wearing and held the pair I was to try on open like a parent does for their toddler to step into. I was in such shock that I just went along with it.
THEN the lady dives in to do up my zip - AND I JUST STOOD THERE STUNNED!!! :stone
OK -so these trousers were a real piece of art, and I said " Thanks, but they arn't really my style" but the lady had already grabbed my arm and pulled me out to show her colleague who commented they were too big and baggy, especially around my backside. THEN my fitting lady virtually yelled "Oh, yes, she need's a bigger bottom, but that'll come after a few months on the job"
By now I couldn't hold in my laughter (brought on by sheer embarressment)
and got changed into my own clothes and ran out the door
I must remember that my sense of fashion at 23 is somewhat different than my 50 year old aunty's!
I decided i liked the anonymity that comes with shopping at a large shopping centre and ventured over.
That basically took up my day and now I'm relaxing before bed
Oh yeah, my guests enjoyed dinner last night and brought their own steak to BBQ (they just arrived with it). Good night with great company.
Have a fantastic day everyone.
