Hair woes... any good updo ideas for work??

  1. HI-

Well, I guess you could say I'm hair challenged... I've never been able to blow dry my awful long curly hair straight and ponytails have been my mainstay for years. Anyone have advice (with possible instructions) for a nice, elegant, simple updo for work?

yes, although it's not exactly elegant but it's easy. i bend my head down, gather all of it into a pony tail at the top of my head then just tuck the end of it under the elastic, and adjust as necessary. another one is using those big spring clips; again bend your head down and twist it til you reach the end and just clip it at the top. i'm a very no nonsense person and do not like to fuss so these 2 styles literally take me less than a minute to do.

I make a ponytail in the back, then twist it tight toward the top of my head and use a little spring clip to hold it. I've gotten many compliments on this look and it takes about 5 seconds to do!

A french braid is nice. That is what I do sometimes. I like combs too.

long curly hair, here, too. I let air dry, scrunch and then turn head upside down, twist toward my crown, and use a clip, letting some curls hang out the top/sides. I NEVER blow dry my hair; it takes too long, and is too damaging. Sometimes, in a hurry, I french braid while it's wet if it needs to be up.

Long, extra thick and curly, I do a French twist (sometimes it gets too heavy and I get a headache though, or I'll pull it too tight and give myself an instant facelift)

Well, when I had long hair. I used to make an off set part, smooth it back into a messy-neat bun. I just cut it off 2mos ago and I love the short do!
