  1. HOUSTON - A building at the Johnson Space Center was evacuated Friday after reports of a gunman inside, police said. Space center security officers and Houston police were dispatched to the building, which houses communications equipment and a laboratory.

With the amount of media coverage given to the VA killer, is it any suprise?

I just saw on MSNBC that the gunman and one hostage are dead. The other hostage is apparently OK.

NASA and police identified him as 60-year-old William Phillips. He had apparently had a dispute with the slain hostage, police said.

    three incidents in local schools.

Tells me these freaks are getting WAY too much airtime.

But hey that is just me.

Yep, we've had our share of local incidents too - yesterday a local high school was shut down and my ds's university was also shut down a few days ago.

I'm not convinced though that we are going to hell in a handbasket - these incidents make the news and are played up against a backdrop of millions of people living their lives, going to work, playing with their kids, etc.

The media just accentuates the negative.

I just think playing out Cho's manifesto video was out of line and unnecesssary, not to mention, disrespectful to the families who lost loved ones. Really what do we as the general public, gain from seeing this? He stood to gain a lot posthumously, is all I can see. Let the professionals view, and assess this. This guy got WAY too much air time. And now, the copycats are out in force. Makes me so sick.
