Do what is good for you and your family. Everybody has at least one job in their past that just did not work out for one reason or another. Tell your boss the truth. The information that another institution is making employees a better deal should be valuable to her. I learned a long time ago that a job is a business arrangement and not a personal arrangement. Best to keep emotion out of the deal. Express your regret and do what is best for you. Good luck.

well, i made up my mind today...I am going with the other LTC because health insurance is too big of a deal too ignore....my new employer offers it for $100/MON as where the place i am leaving had it for 560 a month..plus other great benefits w/ new place...thanks!!

$560/month for health insurance is ridiculous. Were they paying ANY portion of it?

That would be like getting a raise of approx. 3 bucks an hour. $560 a month is stupid for health ins. Go with the other place and don't feel guilty, they were sicking it to you anyway.

Yikes $560 a month! I'd be homeless Run, don't walk to the new job, and enjoy the savings!

Good luck with the new job

I don't think you should feel guilty, your employer should feel guilty charging $560.00/month for insurance, I would let them know why you are leaving too, don't hesitate to speak up, you may help a nurse following you.

Don't look back, and when the old pace asks you why you're leaving, make sure you tell them the truth. Maybe it'll do some good for the people left behind. You're right - insurance IS a big deal!
