Grocery Shopping

  1. Just curious -
My husband seems to think I should go to 1 grocery store and get everything. How many others go to 1 grocery store?
I like to shop at Kroger's (love their Rotisserie chicken), and Wal-mart because I like their ground chuck better. I can't imagine going to just 1 grocery store.

Just ate Kroger rotisserie chicken for dinner. Love it!!!! Kroger is close to my house. I go to SuperWalmart when I am coming home from work. But I refuse to run around town buying some here, some there just for a few pennies. It takes too much time and effort ( and gas) Hello gas is $1.50 right now in my area.

There is no single grocery store that has everything I want.

I alternate between Larry's (Seattle-area gourmet grocery store), Fred Meyer, and QFC (which is in the Kroger family, I believe), with occasional sidetrips to Albertson's or Safeway. I would LOVE it if one store had everything!

I go to Superstore for the produce and dry goods, and IGA for meat, deli and bakery. Safeway bites, but I like their organic food section.

Aldi's for staples and IGA for meat and other stuff that Aldi's doesn't carry. I would go to Wal-Mart but I can stand the crowds.

We stop at Albertson's or Safeway if we just need a couple of things (depends on which direction we are headed home from)...NEVER Fred Meyer...their prices bite bad here.

I do the majority of our grocery shopping at Winco (bag your own) and Costco. We are getting a Walmart Superstore in a couple of months so we may drop Winco.

(according to Quicken I spent $6000 feeding me, my big hungry husband and 2 (+) bottomless teenagers last year so I guess I am doing something right...oh, and I hate coupons...I never bother with them)

I only shop at Kroger, most of the time. The only thing that gets me to other stores are SUPER sales--and I mean super. At least 5 items I need for prices far below what I can get them at Kroger. Or if they have super double coupons/triple coupons, etc. Kroger is very close to me, while other stores are 10-15 minutes further away. They double coupons up to 60 cents and have a better shopping atmosphere.

I usually do all my grocery shopping at only one store. I prefer go to Zerhs but if I'm passing by a Food Basics I'll stop in there. Sobey's offers 24 hour shopping so on nights I go there.

Usually I shop at the Wal-Mart supercenter about 12 miles away because their prices are SO much lower than our local grocery stores..If I just need to zip in and zip out, I will just go to the local grocery store...but their prices are a joke....try to stay out of there....I don't usually go to more than one store but I vary depending on the list and my particular mood...
Dood.... I have to go to almost every store. It equals out to almost a store a day. Hubby hates it, says what I save in sales I waste in gas and time, but oh well.....

I have a grocery store 4 blocks from my house. So, only one store. Too much trouble for anything else!

If we're buying meat, laundry soap, paper goods - stuff we buy "bulk" of - we go to Costoc Wholesale.

If it's just "simple groceries" or produce - then we hit Vons.

If we need really good or "odd" produce we hit Henry's Marketplace

If it's hygiene or household stuff - Walmart

    ONE Store?!?! NEVER!!!

I shop at only one store, but I go to a different grocery store every week. There are so many nice ones where I live.
