When I read this article about the ex-Mayor, I found it amusing that the very next article in the lineup was this one pointing out that Monica Conyers, Detroit councilwoman and wife of Congressman John Conyers, pled guilty to accepting bribes for a $47 million dollar contract.
And then I read about how Mayor Gary Becker missed the Obama inauguration because he was caught trying to hook up with a 14 year old. And then how Alabama State Senate Majority Leader Zeb Little was vetted out of potential contention for a job with Obama because he was arrested for a DUI.
I was more amused about how Dennie Oxley of Indiana made a claim of special immunity when cops tried arrest him at a gas station for public intoxication this weekend while a 21 year old former intern lay passed out face down on the ground nearby.
This was one day after the former Texas house speaker (and current lobbyist) was arrested in Austin for DUI. This was the same speaker who accepted an illegal gift from a law firm and had to step down. I'm surprised he wasn't rocketed into presidential contention.
And it was the same day that a fundraiser for Congressional Candidate Francine Busby was pepper-sprayed and arrested for refusing to cooperate with police investigating a noise complaint at a residential fundraiser.
But this coming week we have the honor of seeing Seminerio resigning and pleading guilty to influence-peddling, for which he made about $1 million. But he's not the only NY politician in trouble as Brooklyn Senator Kevin Parker is cutting a deal on his assault charge so he won't lose his seat.
Add to the list of recently arrested; JP Quintero, who was practicing law illegally or something like that, and the issue for which we see no shame...that of former aid to Senator James Abourezk, Gwen Myers, who was just arrested for spying for Cuba. Not to mention that she worked for Dashle and a top aide to Obama.
There is something that all these people have in common, and it's not their birthday. But since people don't care about the crimes of Democrats, we won't read about them here.
Instead, the thread we see started is one about some ex-mayor from a small town in Georgia who got drunk and took off his clothes.
