Today I have to deal with the loss of our goofy cat, Shadow. I was always afraid to let him out, but he decided to pee in the house to guarantee his ticket to the great outside. He lived happily out there, enjoyed inviting his cat friends through the kitty door into the garage (we started calling it poker night when the strays started coming in!). So, after a busy 12 hr shift, I came home hoping to have a big snack and get ready for another, when the doorbell rang. Honestly, I am somewhat comforted that this neighbor we never really speak with, brought him home to us. It would have been so easy for him to just discard my poor little kitty and forget about it, but now he can be buried at home. I probably sound like a total lunatic, but my animals are my kids. I hope that anyone who reads this, picks up their furbabies and gives them just one more scratch on the head. You never know when you will lose them!
