you mean you aren't starting it, tweets? :chuckle we was waiting for ya!

although it is still only a bit after 10 p.m. here, i'll join you in saying
    good morning to everybody.

managed to get a lot accomplished yesterday (today to west coast folks). finished up the paperwork for my other patient, got my driver's license renewed (how come i forgot about needing another photo? no make-up, windblown hair, unattractive blouse?) if i hadn't paid yet would have told them to wait a day.

also fedex delivered my airline tickets. so its official - leave at 0615 a.m.!!! on thursday, march 17th. yikes - guess i won't get any sleep that night, huh?

hope we all have a great wednesday. off to have a beer.

I see you guys are still on yesterday's thread, but that's probably because it's still yesterday on the west.

I'm finally recovered from the lack of sleep due to the chemistry exam. The instructor said this was the worst of them, and people typically do bad on this one. I don't know whether to be comforted by that or not. Either way, it's time to move on to the next chapter.

    Two more shifts until vacation!!!!!

I'm going to do a little chemistry, watch the movie Garden State, and maybe, maybe go to Walmart since I haven't been since last week and I'm going through withdrawals. LOL

    Have a great day!

two more shifts! you can do it!! and yeah, ya better go to wal*mart and tell 'em you might not be seeing them in awhile. you're gonna miss nights, tweety. although certain it will make home life nice, working same shift as spouse. what is the nurse/patient ratio on days?

can't believe that chemistry test. yikes! at least the worst is over. let us know how you did on it, o.k?

Weetzie, I actually am going to miss nights, and prowling around the city in the dark. But the days off will be easier. Taking those long tests will be easier. Going to the doctor will be easier, etc. etc. etc. etc.

The ratio on days is dreadful. The nurses take 7 patients with a CNA all to themselves, or even up to 8. By yourself you can have 5 patients without a CNA. Most people seem to think it's easier to take the seven with the CNA. I know I'm going to hate working days. My next step will be to work critical care with a 2:1 ratio if I can't handle med-surg on days. But I'll give it a try.

I'll let you know about the chemistry test. Thanks for the support.

Good Morning All! So what's for breakfast? Left over pizza seems to be all that's left in the fridge - too many overtime shifts lately! And switching back and forth from nights to days can really take the life right outa me. I hope that all is well with everyone who visits the break room today; congrats on the chemistry test Tweety, and Weetzie it's a wonderful time of year in Saudi - not too hot, not too cold - Do you need an Abaya? I have a spare one!

ye gads!!! 7 or 8 patients on dayshift?? that is crazy - even with a cna. how do they manage, and still go home not fearing that they forgot something crucial? that seems criminal to me. good luck to ya, tweety!

and, madwife, glad to see ya. was beginning to think this thread was gonna be a conversation between tweets and i.
so, you're moving to the u.s. as well? whereabouts? i'm not going on vacation, but taking a job in saudi arabia. hey, if ya do see the queen while you're in london do tell her i said hi, o.k? and let us know about the job you are seeking - hope it turns out the way you want it to.

bye y'all. really am going to have a beer now.

    Good morning everyone!
I have a minute and decided to pop in and see how good ol Allnurses was faring...looks good! The old crew still hanging around...some new.....
This semester is kicking my hiney, to say the least, but I am doing ok in it. Could be worse, I suppose .
Have an A&P II cardiac mastery quiz this AM. She wants us to be sure to know how to figure cardiac output and MAP. So we are having a quiz on just that. I'll ace that one, so no prob.
I'll try to come back later after class today and snoop around awhile longer, but for now, I have to get ready!
    NEXT WEEK IS SPRING BREAK!!!!
    :hatparty: :Melody: :hatparty:
    I can't wait!
    See you all soon!

    Hugs and wishes~
    Julie
