Good Wednesday Morning 5/26/04

  1. good morning everyone! ya know, one thing that this thread always does for me is makes me aware of the date each day, if nothing else! lol! i heard from richard and he is out of the hospital. not sure if he pressured them into it or not, but he says he is doing okay and has to go for a stress test on monday. i will let you all know if i hear more but i think he is giving all nurses a rest since sometimes it can tend to cause a little stress lol!

so, how is everyone today? same old story, but i didn't get much sleep last night. it's okay thought because i will let bryan sleep in a little this morning and then i can take a nap later. i'm so glad he is home for two days and not running off to do a side job for once. it makes it a little hard on the finances, but hey, we'll be alright. speaking of that....could those of you that pray, say a little prayer that he gets this job that he is going to interview for on tuesday? i would really appreciate it, even if he is skeptical!

tweety, where were you yesterday? and russell where have you gone? you are never here anymore! liza wasn't around either. hmmmm...i hope ii didn't scare you all off with my serious posts and brainstorming about childcare! please come back!!!! we miss you!!! i was also thinking of warrior woman and hoping she is okay too! am i missing anyone else?

so last night after i finally left here, i did do my dishes and put the chicken away. i am going in to take care of some recyclables and make sure my bathroom is looking okay for the plumber and landlord who are coming at 8 am. we are taking the kids to the y today because we all (except bryan) have to do our handprint and have a tour and check out what exactly is happening there for everyone. i would like to start going when bry is at work so the kids can go play with others and i can work out and have some "mommy time" while getting in better shape.

the question of the day today is just something that popped in my you belong to any gyms, clubs, groups, etc. examples would be the y, the american legion, the aclu, the ana, i think you get my drift. bryan belongs to the american kitchen and bath association (akba) so that he can get his specialty license through them. we also belong to the y and that's it that i can think of.

today is just more preparing for the sale and some errands after the y. i have to pick up some more posterboard to make some signs and bryan got me some wooden stakes and cardboard to make others. then i have to actually make them, clean off my porch and side yard (if it ever stops raining) find rope and rig it for the hanging clothes and do a final sweep of the house with bryan in tow to make sure we got everything that we want to sell. what work this is!!!! but we need the moula so it's gotta be. no worries.

i just want to thank you all again for your undying support. i really appreciate it. ya'll are the bomb! so, what's happening for everyone else today? anything exciting? i hope the new people that have been coming to this thread keep on coming!

Good Morning! Here at work things are pretty quiet at 0400 a.m.

I've been focusing on my yard on days off . . replanting flowerbeds, pulling weeds, etc. My son keeps all his trucks and tractors going helping me move all the piles of weeds although it does take him awhile with those tiny front-end loaders.

Memberships . . . . well, I belong to Curves and try to workout 3 times a week.

Because my daughter is involved in FFA and Jr. Rodeo and my husband is on the Little League Board I feel by extension I am too I guess I will add those.

Mostly I'm a member of the please God I want to be a stay at home mom again organization. :chuckle

gotta remember to buy a lottery ticket . . . just kidding - I never buy them.

Morning Steph!!! And I am a member of the please God I want to get through school and go to work so I don't go nuts association! LOL! Isn't it funny how we want what we don't/can't have? I always wanted to be a SAHM and now I want out. Not that I don't love my kids's just time (besides we need the cash! LOL!)

Working outside sounds lovely! You're in CA right? How's the weather been? Must be great there...I think Noah's Ark is going to be revisited here! LOL!

Well, it has been thunderstormish and rainy and then sunny with puffy clouds. Lost power here a few days ago due to lightening.

I walk every day to the post office with my son in the jogging stroller and then either work in the yard or sit in the yard reading a book while my son plays with his trucks.

I'm not saying that at the end of the day when my husband gets home I'm not glad to hand him our son. No one can be around someone 24 hours a day without getting a little tired. But I love being at home. Stayed home with the other 3 and homeschooled them for awhile. They are all home now for the summer. My 21 year old is driving a logging truck saving money for college and his mission trip to Africa at the end of June. My 19 year old is working for us welding and general mechanic stuff on our truck and trailers. My 14 year old is busy with the end of 8th grade and softball. I still have to get her a dress for promotion and hopefully all the PROM dresses will be gone. So I'm not the bad guy when I continue to say NO PROM DRESS and I don't care if all your friends are wearing one.

I'd better go check on my nurses . . . . 5 patients today and so far no ER patients.

    Good Morning !!!

I'm WORE OUT... but I'm BACK ! It's going to take me days to fill you all in, but in a nutshell, the wedding was beautiful, all went smoothly, the Smokies were lovely as always (we had a great 3 bedroom condominium up in the mountains away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg with the most fantastic view from our balcony)... the pool and jaccuzi were open 'til 11 pm so after all the stress we sure enjoyed those!

Was great having all the family together, and as always, we had a blast... even though Pati cracked a rib the day before she came out (got carried away with her silly antics) and then the night before we left for the wedding she missed the last step on our porch (lit only by candlelight) and fell into the lawnchair hitting her right in the sternum and skinned both her knees pretty badly... sheeesh. She took it all in stride, though and the show went on ! :chuckle

The kids car broke down on the interstate the day before we were to leave as well, and they stayed up all night fretting about it, ended up having to get it towed in the morning. They had reserved a rental car for the trip anyway.. (thank God !)... could you imagine if they had taken theirs and having it break down halfway to Tennessee with their wedding stuff all in the back.. gown, suit, honeymoon clothes, etc? That would have been horrible.. not to mention the stress of standing on the side of the interstate trying to get to their own wedding ! Yikes.

Well, let me get another coffee, and start regrouping here slowly.. have lots of catching up to do here.. what's with Richard? Is he sick?

    Anything else big I missed?

I'll be back in awhile ! Hope everyone's doing well !

Hi! I'm glad I'm not the only one up at this early hour. My night off. Go back to work tonight. I worried about work for awhile tonight. The electricity went off for three hours tonight, around 11:30 pm, didn't come on until 1:45 am. The LTC is an old facility, so all the lights go out. I don't think we even have a generator. May be wrong. Luckily we have oxygen tanks for the ones using O2 and tube feedings can be done by gravity or stopped for awhile if needed. I couldn't even call to find out if the nurse who works on my nights off was doing okay. The phones didn't work, due to black out. My sons walked by my work and reported to me that the LTC was dark.
But, everything is okay now. I'm sure the black out will be the big topic tonight, at work.

My family is sleeping. My dog is happy since she got to bark at the newspaper person and drug the paper inside. She is now sleeping. I'm here on Allnurses, and listening to a CD (with headphones).

Guess what I registered for an online course. YUP! Music Appreciation. It should be a good step towards finishing my left over BSN prereqs. This time I want to finish it. I will pursue the LPN to BSN Program here in Portland. If I don't do it now, someday I will say I wish I would have. Now, I hope I can keep from talking myself out of it. LOL.

I don't belong to an exercise club, except for the "I don't want to exercise club". LOL. I'm one of the lucky ones. I stay 120 lbs, but I still have to watch what I eat, due to high cholestrol. I am out of shape, so I really should exercise. I do have a bike and an exercise bike. So I don't have an excuse.

Any way have a great day!

Good morning! I haven't been on in a while either, so much has been going on here! I am planning on enjoying the rest of my "vacation"-I somehow managed to get a whole week off without using any vacation time for my transition from night shift to day shift! My house is much overdue for some late spring cleaning before going back to work on monday.

Good morning everyone! Kim I'm glad you're feeling better I have to clean my daughter's room and read 6 chapters and fill in my study guide for Pathophysiology today. I can think of much better ways to spend my time but that's life. I don't have any memberships anywhere. I'd love to join a gym but between nursing school, 2 kids, my paper route and this site I just don't have the time right now. Maybe when I get out of school. Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning! Yesterday was a bit boring, and I slept the day away.

Worked last night. It was a quiet night at work (as evidenced by some of my overnight posting. )

Off again for two days!!! Woot!

    Have a great day everyone!!!
