Morning all! It's almost 5am and I'm studying for my validation in IVs (and NG tubes) in the morning. Part of this is calculations. I have some sample problems and there's one I don't know about. Can someone show me how to do it?

Your patient is to recieve IV Digoxin 0.125mg. You have avaliable Digoxin 0.5mg/2cc. How many mL will you give?

For some reason, this is the only question I don't know...

Ooh...didn't see the breakfast menu. I'm feeling sooo greedy. *evil grin* Coffee of course!, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, and the biscuit and gravy will make me a very happy woman. In addition to passing this skill checkoff.

I have not been able to get much rest tonight. I want to ask every member to pray for my hubby over the next few weeks. He is finally getting a start on his knee replacements, he is having the right one done on 2/2. He has had such a terrible time and so much pain, I really hope this helps him be able to be more active. If everything goes well with this one, he will have another one in about 3 months. Then he can have a shoulder replacement in 3 months after the knees are done. I was teasing him last night that the Bionic Man is long gone but the Joint Man is coming on strong. Well, I hope everyone has a safe and productive day.

    I know. I know!

This is actually one of the more common one's you'll see on the floor if you work med-surg. Because some vials have .5 mg. and .125 is a common dose. Which is 1/4th the .5mg dose. You would give .5 cc/ml (get that small turberculine syrine out. )

Of course, if you're lucky you're pharmacy or floor stock will have the .125 mg vials.

Barefootlady, I hope you dear husband recovers from each surgery and in the end becomes healthy and pain free as the bionic man.

Good morning everyone! I'll have some coffee and fresh fruit. I'm anxious for Ben. He starts his new school today. I have totally smothered him with kisses and positive thoughts and comments and I think he is disgusted with me now. :chuckle

Still studying for my Pharm exam. I think I know a little bit more than I did yesterday. I called another student and asked her if she would like to get together tonight and study with me. She was all for that, so we are going to meet tonight and drill each other.

Barefootlady, I'll say a prayer for your husband. This must be stressful for you both.

Tweety, thanks for solving that drug question. I was looking at it blankly, thinking OMG I am never going to get this. We don't start the math section until next week.

BabyRN Good luck on your validation! (Is that a competency?) You can do it!

presC. I hope your hubby feels better soon.

Mary Ann - thanks for the breakfast! I hope it doesn't get too busy for ya!

Morning prmenrs! Yes, aren't you glad you missed out on the boob talk?

    hi guys

alright, babyrn, i knew the answer to the math problem - .5cc - but, tweety, can you explain how you got it. i know its 'desired' over 'have', but for some reason can look at the problems and figure out the answer but not be able to show how i did it. consequently, feel like i don't really know how to figure it out. kwim?

anyway, at this ridiculous hour i need to get some sleep, so goodnight to all and hope we all have a great day!
