Good Thursday Morning 02/03/05

  1. Long day today, so going to make it an early night before back for another 12 in the am.

Donny, you are definitely right about the beautiful weather here this week. Just love looking out the window whenever I get a chance. Everything is quite green but you can still see snow on the top of some of the mountains.

Dianah, when we drove up here a few weeks ago, the Grapevine was closed and we had to go the long way around, 14 and 58. It will make the trip so much easier and faster just to be able to take I-5 and then I-10. And save a few hours off of the trip in each direction.

    Have a great day everyone..............

p.s. how about scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for breakfast? and a really good coffee?

Hi suzanne - that must have been the same time as my son. He drove down to school and bypassed the Grapevine by going over to the coast. He drove through that town that later had that huge mudslide - can't remember the name - brain cells are not firing.

I'd love smoked salmon and scrambled eggs but I'll see you in 11 hours for breakfast.

I just got home from another long, hard shift and am still fighting the remnants of this crazy GI/respiratory bug I was sick with all last week, so I'll take a raincheck on that breakfast and get to bed. See y'all in the morning........just have a hot black cuppa joe waiting for me, OK?

    'Night, all.......

We had a guy at 3 a.m. who tried to mix many many drugs and a supposed car jacking . .. .

    Marla, love your avatar!!

Suzanne - yes, the Grapevine was closed for a day and a half when it snowed -- what, three weeks ago?? Hope it's clear for ya! I personally don't like spending ANY more time on LA area freeways than is absolutely necessary!

My PDA should arrive tomorrow, returning from the Sony repair place in San Diego. Hope it's all fixed, so I can get down to using it!

The cats are all lazing around, looking VERY comfy and cozy, while the wind blusters outside.

I got off work too late to go to jujitsu, and dh is under the weather so he didn't go, thus the kids didn't go. So I brought dinner home and then vegged out w/ book and TV. Speaking of which, anyone watching American Idol? That's what I watched tonite. They're done auditioning in the six (?) cities, and next week all 193 contestants will strut their stuff in Hollywood. They all come with such high hopes, having been "chosen" thus far . . . then have to endure this next grueling phase, with the requisite winnowing out, narrowing down to the final few. I always have to wonder, is this TRULY representative of how the music industry is? (where's Ted when we need his wisdom in this area -- or anyone else w/experience??) Just curious.

Thursday is here, FRIDAY IS AROUND THE CORNER!!! Then the weekend!!! Sat. we're driving in to Oceanside to see mil, and bro-in-law, out visiting and here for a job interview as well. Hope if it's the right thing, he'll get the job. It'll be good to see him, and mil as well.

Better get ready for bed. 'Nite! -- D

    Good morning everyone.
If MJ doesn't want her salmon....can I have it? MJ, hope you feel better.
And what is it with all these folks intoxicated on the road, like they own the da*n thing. Just saw in the paper regarding a Supreme Court Justice (Resnick) pulled off the road a couple times for weaving on the freeway and smelling like the brew...of course, denying she touched the stuff. Yes, what is the world coming to? Not much happening, which I sorta like. Work was busy this eve, but what med-surg floor isn't? All in all, it was a good day. Now, I'm planning to curl up in my bed, pull out a good book, turn the fan on in my direction and drift off to sleep...sometimes, this is the best part of my day. Yes, I do sleep with the fan on. Love the air. Currently reading a Clive Cussler book, entitled Lost City. Its pretty good. Off today...Thursday. Will see my girls. Hope my cyber fam has a great day. Don't work too hard...till the next time. Oh, I broke out some buttermilk biscuits for everyone to pass around the cyber table. The jam is to your left ...eh, to my right...apricot. Fresh fruit salad sitting in the center of the table with some nice cool whip to top it off if you like. Here's some fresh strawberries if you want that instead. Strawberries with a light coating of sprinkled sugar on top is my favorite. Enjoy.

wa! the heck with breakfast, suzanne, it's only 11:30 p.m. here and i'm gonna have some of those scrambled eggs and smoked salmon as a pre-bedtime snack. thanks

guys, please clarify for this oregonian. what the heck is the grapevine?
we are having gorgeous weather. nicest winter (meaning no rain) in a loooooong time.

tweety, 'poor guy' riding his bike drunk? i never feel sorry for anyone who drinks and drives, cause they usually come out of it fine but injure or kill some innocent person.

diana, hope your pda is all fixed and ready to go. i wouldn't have a clue what to do with it. definately behind the times!

wolfy, stop! stop! i'm eating too much without adding buttermilk bisquits! enjoy your day with your daughters.

don't want to forget anyone.....hi steph, marla, nurseboy. as well as everyone yet to join us here.

work is still busy, but not too. carpets look so good since we shampooed them, but doggies with muddy feet are a challenge. it is quite amusing to watch dh try to convince them to stay in one spot while he attempts to clean their paws before entering from the backyard. i just ordered the 'abs diet' book on amazon. sounds sensible and find trying to just cut down on food isn't working. i need more structure. so decided that this is my new year's resolution..........and chinese new year (feb. 9th) will be d-day. ah.........wish me luck.
