Quick, tired hello before I drop off to sleep.
Headed up to WMart AGAIN for the 3rd day in a row to pick up Mutti's much needed 1-2-3 cream... it wasn't mixed yet, and when they went to mix it, they were missing one ingredient, and had to order it.. won't be ready til tomorrow. I was THIS close to having a meltdown, right there in WMart. It's bad enough to have to go there after work anyway, and three times for naught !!! I was already so tired, I could hardly live.
I dropped dead on my bed when I got in this evening, managed to sneak in a 40 min power-nap. Had to leave work for awhile this morning to come assist the nurse do Mutti's wound care, as two hands simply aren't enough. I'm glad I at least have the Desitin until I get the other. No new places, but we're having a time with the one bad one. At least it's not getting any worse. It's so dang hard an area to get to, and with the Desitin, none of the tape wants to stick to hold the foam on over the w-t-d mesalt, everything slides off, even tegaderm won't stick.
And she needs the cream on everywhere to keep those red areas from breaking down.. what a mess.
It does seem to have helped those angry red areas, so I'm grateful for that. Also got her the breathable Attends, and that is helping, too. She will NOT stay turned on her side, it's useless to try. She just doesn't understand. Heck, every day we do her wound care, she thinks we're doing it the first time and can't understand just what the heck we're doing back there !
It's very tedious and time-consuming, to be sure. Then drive back to work.. ton's of admissions and follow-ups to be done... then WMart... and so it goes. Do I have a life yet? :spin:
Tomorrow after work I'll help the aide give her a good bath again.. then do the laundry..again...and hopefully be able to settle down for a decent weekend. I can taste my White Russian already.
Pati keeps begging me to let her come out and stay a few weeks, but truly, I think I'd be even more stressed .. I'd still have to work....
I dunno... we'll see how it goes. I may take her up on it yet. We'll see.
I did have a pleasant surprise today when I got home, though... a package from Grace was waiting on the table!
What a Sweetie she is ! All kinds of nice goodies from her beloved Australia...her kindness and thoughtfulness was soooooo appreciated! :kiss Made my day, to be sure!
Well, it's raining again, the fog is rolling in over the field like huge billows.. a good noc to sleep.
Oh.. Adam and his friend went hiking on Memorial Day weekend... camped out and rose before sun-up to hike to the summit of Pike's Peak and then to the top of Mt. Armat as well ! 14,000 + feet !!! He loved it. Here's a few pics:
Awesome, eh? He sure is a chip off his Momma's old block ! See, it all, do it all, breathe it all, LIVE it all !!!
