Good Thursday morning!

  1. Hello everyone!!

I'm actually about to go to bed - I got an enormous amount of work done this evening despite watching Private Practice and Kitchen nightmare.

I made my appt for my root canal -- not before Jan. 11 but I am on the cancellation list. Oh joy. :P

And, my excitement for the day - my article on palliative care in Canada was published on the CBC site. How cool is that? I've been published in several online and hard copy publications, but this is my first national clip.

    Have a great Thursday everyone!

    Good morning! :kiss

It is not quite midnight in my area. I'm just going through the motions with my job right now. Even though I only work full-time weekends, I am growing increasingly sick and tired of my workplace. The patients are not the problem; rather, it's the complaining family members, the rising expectations, the push for customer service, the short staffing, and the lawsuit threats. My 2 year anniversary will be in February 2008, so I am trying to hang on for a couple of months before I make any rash moves.

Take care, and have a fabulous day!

You sound like me. But I know that no matter where I go there will always be nasty families and facilities that want to turn a LTCF or hospital into the Hilton.

I'm just waiting for graduation so then I can quit this soul sucking job.

For the past few months, I have been seriously considering a switch to night shift, so as to avoid the family members and customer service demands. I've worked overtime night shifts at my workplace. They are rather boring, but I didn't have to deal with the distractions of visitors, doctors who want to round, pillow fluffing requests, food complaints, and so forth.

Nights have their own challenges Commuter - I like it though. My mother has worked nights for years now and loves it, would never consider working days...... Good luck to you in coming to some sort of decision.

    Wonderful news!

    (((((((((((( Commuter ))))))))))))
sorry work isn't more motivating/enjoyable (yes, enjoyable), to some extent.
Hope you find what's good for you.

I finally downloaded piccys of Monday's Disneyland trip (yes Tina, we have annual passes).

Here's the main entrance, train in the station (hiding the garlands):

Small World decorated for the season (the doors open and toy soldiers trumpet the time every 15 min; a small procession of dolls exits out the doors below the wagging face w/the Santa hat):

Here we're at the "end" of Main St, looking back towards the entrance, to the huge tree:

Some decos in New Orleans Square area:

    A few more:

A tree and lit trees in California Adventure:

And, though it's not particularly Christmas-y, here's a view across the water, looking towards the Boardwalk area (California Screamin' roller coaster has the Mickey face/ears lit in blue, while the Sun Wheel ferris wheel is lit to the right):

Good morning everyone!!! I can't believe I missed an entire day. I went shopping yesterday with my mother. Bought her christmas present, got some clothes for myself and got some really ncie smelling cologne (Burberry London). It snowed here and it's so nice looking outside, but the roads are awfully slick so I took my time coming to work tonight. How is everyone else doing? I finaly figured out my acceptance letter, and the scholarship that I"m getting will only be covering actual nursing classes so the A&P that I have to take come this June will have to come out of my own pocket... about 2000 dollars. But oh well, I knew I was working all this overtime for a reason... I just hope I get teh scholarship for September. Please be safe out there and I'll be checking in laterz.
