Hello - watched a movie tonight. Ate some leftover mexican food. Now watching our 3 year old play Spiderman. He has no idea really who Spiderman is since he hasn't seen the movies - being three and all. But he is keeping us laughing.

It was really cold earlier tonight - I built a large fire and just about drove everyone from the house.

    Happy Sunday!

G'day Tweets and all who follow. You beat me to it today! I was going to get this thread started but dallied too long reading other posts.
It's actually sunday afternoon here in Oz, 1650 to be precise!

Have had a great day! Started off rising at 0620, dressed, drove the 3 min ride to friend's place, collected her and we headed off on the approx 30-40 min drive to the beach. Parked the car, walked jetty to jetty, from one suburb to another, took about an hour or so. It was BEAUTIFUL at the beach, (remember it's our summer here). By the time we were on the return leg of our walk, more people and their numerous dogs had joined us. People and dogs everywhere! The ocean, (Southern Ocean!) was clam and ebbing and flowing gently. Beautiful blue skies, barely a cloud to be seen. After the walk, we bought cappucinos and sat on the beach relaxing, enjoying our drinks and watching the world go by. We both stated how blessed we felt living in this magnificent country, so safe and peaceful. So clean and wide open and just wonderful. We talked, as friend's do, about nursing, about our SO's, our children, (now adults), our own dogs, (who'd have loved to be a the beach today!), and generally just solved the worlds problems really.
I fully reccommend this as a way to begin any day, it was fabulous! We plan to do it again, soon!
Hope you all enjoy a happy sunday, I have! And now it's our tea time here! Soooo, I've gotta dash!

good morning, everybody. it is still very much saturday night here.

tweety, are you still studying chemistry? must be time for a break by now, dontcha think?

steph, nothing like a 3 year old to keep ya amused.

grace, ah.. your description of your day is so lovely. i'd love to have been along with you guys.

raindreamer, was reading yesterday's thread just now and i am soooo excited for you. your last care plan! woo!! hoo!! that is cause for celebration. now the ed, and preceptorship in the nicu. that is fantastic. are you crossing out the days till graduation on the calendar yet?
i'm still waiting on them to send my tickets, so still don't know exactly when i'll be leaving.

fran, hi sweetie. thinking of you and hoping your soft cervical collar is working out better for you.

dh and i did yardwork sat. - phew! got our exercise. but certainly goes a lot quicker with both of us doing it. put doggies in their run so they were out of our way. you know how they just love to 'help' - i throw the toys out of the yard, onto the patio so we can mow the grass, and they go fetch and bring it back to me.

almost finished with my book, so going to read it now. *sigh* when did saturday night become time to read books? see y'all later -

p.s. i'd offer breakfast but am too full, as i just ate, to even think about food. so, its every one for themselves this morning!

    Morning !!!

Wow, Grace... what a beautiful day you had yesterday... days like that are just SO refreshing and uplifting. Lucky you. Why didn'y you bring YOUR doggies to the beach with you? I'm SO ready for my feet to touch the sand of a beach... and feel the ocean water slap up against my legs. April can't come soon enough.. that's when DD and I go up to visit Adam and Thumbelina at Va. Beach. WoooHOOOOOO !!!

Rain.. as I read your post yesterday, I found myself actually getting excited WITH you as opposed to FOR you.. just got totally into the whole feeling. It's making me giddy right along with you. So happy for you.

Angie.. so that's what you bought yourself? The PDA ? Cool. Take a break today, will ya?

Weetz.. did ya save me any food? Time to WAKE UP !!! :chuckle

Steph... we need to holler for Marla to get out the "old pics shoebox" !
And Weetz, and Lil' Girl (where has she been, by the way?).. and Deb, and Tweeters... and just all you sixties people.. c'mon ! Enjoy the fun.

Hopefully you won't have to build too many more fires... my daffodils are UP !!! Whooooooooot !!!

Just a quick note to say hi, and now it is feed the kids and back to the hospital again for another three day stretch.

Actually spent about 18 hours in bed on Saturday, with naps and everything. The scent of homemade chicken soup lingering in the air, and soft cuddly pillows. Not much more that you could ask for.............

    Have a great day everyone.....................

    Morning all!

PresC, good to see you! Did you have just a family-visiting vacation?? Dh and I used to take those, 'waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back when we were first married, BK (= Before Kids). Glad you had a good time.

Jnette, I can't imagine you WON'T get any more inclement weather. The daffodils don't know any different, however, and there they are! We always have what I call a "fake spring," where it is in the 70's and 80's, nights a little cool (but not much), in Feb and March, and then we get a COLD SNAP in April, enough to jolt the gardens! Then it warms up for summer. This year, with all the rain, I don't know WHAT the weather/seasons will do!

Angie, you sound like you have a houseful, with kids and dogs! As others have posted, glad you're taking some time for yourself.

    Suzanne, the soup smells wonderful!

Grace, I am normally reluctant to get up that early on a NON-work day, but for a trip like you took, I'd do it. It sounds beautiful there, so good for the soul!

    Tweety, have a relaxing day!

Yesterday pm I got to visit with a dear friend I haven't seen for a few months, and it was good to just sit and chat. We were pregnant (my second, her first) together, 13 yr ago, and our boys were born three weeks apart, in March. She and I are polar opposites in some ways (read: her house is clean and organized, mine isn't ), but we are so kindred in other ways, and at least we listen and commisurate re: childrearing and dh woes/complaints.
Then I took the kids over to the church for a "Halo Party," then went home and dinked around on the puter and read my book, until time to pick them up.
Today I have to take oldest to the school for a "Read-In" and while he's there I'll go to the grocery store . . the usual!

    Everyone have a safe day!
