Good Sunday Morning December 19, 2004

  1. All are welcome to post the this thread, newcomers especially. Please sit down, have some bagels, cream cheese, strawberry preserves, or maybe a muffin with marmalade. Fresh hot coffee or tea as well.

Good morning everyone. I just watched a movie "To End All Wars" about POWs in Japan building a bridge in Thailand. It's about a British guy who struggles with justice and forgiveness in the most horrifying conditions. Good movie.

This site seems very slow loading right now, hopefully it will pass.

    Good Morning,

Good Morning Tweety and to all that come later,:Melody:

Of course, I'm at work!! Where else would I be???

Tweety, thanks for breakfast, will just grab some coffee! I think I've seen that movie--it is good!!

I think this nite will never end!! I am in charge--What fun-- But it's not a bad nite so far. Only two admissions. I'm surprised I haven't heard any traumas called---we're having a snow storm here near the lake!! & that usually ends up with lots of trauma calls, altho the late-late bars areprobably just letting out now!!
We are a trauma hospital, almost the only one left on the North side--however, my floor does not get traumas.--usually.

So, WHERE IS EVERYONE!!! Is everyone SLEEPING!!!
    Come on lazies, everyone up!!!
Grab a bite from Twety--don;t let all that lucious food go to waste!!

See you all later, when I get home!!

Come on, guys, a little pity for me driving home in a snow storm!!! :icon_chee

Good Morning Tweety, and all the sleepyheads who have yet to rise.

Must be your puter, Tweety, mine's loading fine.

Well, since Charlie insisted on getting me up again about 30 mionutes ago, and I'm now up and about, I think I'll just throw on my coat and head to WMart before the crowds head out. Need my Christmas groceries and my last minute items, and I don't want to have to go to town anymore after this. Tomorrow starts our week from hell at work, and I'll be lucky to make it through my front door when I get home each evening.

We have a wind chill alert here, supposed to drop down into the low twenties this afternoon with winds up to 30 mph, and tonight the chill factor will take us down to 10-15 below. BRRRRR.

Yep, better get now while the gettin's good!

    Catch y'all alter !

Hey.. my post time is still one hour ahead !

It's 0600 here, not 0700. Did they never fix that?

The board loaded fine right after my initial post. Just got in from a walk. It's a chilly 50 degrees here, so it was a quick walk. I've got the heat cranked up and the warmest house is the bedroom, so spouse comes out and say "I feel like I'm in hell burning up. Turn down the heat!". So let the thermostat wars begin.

Ellie has a few more hives this AM, but nowhere near the breakout she had before.
    Ugh.....

MaryAnn, stay safe in that snow. Do you work 8 hour shifts, because it seems you're always at work. I'm off three, work one and off two more! Then three 12's in a row over Xmas. I hate doing three 12's in a row. Sigh....I'm never happy am I. LOL

    tweety,

    I work 8 hr shifts--40 hr/wk. or 5 nites. That's why it sems I'm always here.
After hip replacement surgery 14 yrs & 15 yrs. ago, the 12 hrs was a bit too much since it was a really busy floor.

The thermostat wars have already started at my house!! I'm too cold--he's too hot!!! Oh well--I've got plenty of blankets.

Our High temp today is only supposed to be 19!!

Good morning all! I probably would have still been sleeping but for my cat "Max" who let me know that he was hungry. Of course, after getting the food, I tried to go back to bed...never works...so here I am on allnurses.

I guess I'm just vegging out right now because school is done and I don't go back to work until January 3rd (benefits of working at the college too!). On thursday I'll be headed to NY so then I'll be busy, but for now, I'm just enjoying my downtime.

I definitely can't complain about the weather as it is 62 degrees. So for all of my allnurses friends up north, stay warm!

    Good morning all!

Tweety I was on about 1;30 and you are right it was really slooow loading, so I don't think it was just your computer. Did you ever find out what is making Ellie break out?

Mary Ann of course you are at work, where else? Be careful.

Jnette be careful in that wind in the am supposed to really get rough. You will probably get some of the snow too I think they said you all would get about 3 to 6 inches. They are calling for just flurries for us. That okay by me!

Mccnrs good morning to you and welcome to the thread. Your weather sounds great!!

Gonna chill today, maybe start a new book, I just finished one last night Don't Close Your Eyes by Robert Ross. Kind of weird, but the message was good, about not letting the devil in. Will try to pick out something light today.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

    Hugs

    Hello all & Everyone!

My Baby is home!!!! :hatparty: We pulled in about 1am....I have to work today though (that sux!) from 2p-10p.

New pup is going out side 95% of the time, so life is good....
Here's a piccy or two, of the new pup (since I don't have any of Amanda being home yet!).....she's the little one beside one of my Danes.....
As close as we can figure...she's a Border Terrier and "something else" but we have no idea what! She sure is a cutie though! We have decided on Gracie for her name....

Its actually sunny today!!! No rain. It's too warm for my kids. They just plain miss the prairies. No snow and they just want to go home.

So, being the good mother of teenage boys , we're going stereo shopping this am as they've finally let me know what they want.

Still waiting to find out how the job interviews went.

So be brave those who venture out into the malls today. Be kind to each other and park at the far end of the mall, the walking is good for us...
