Good morning, you two. And everyone to come after.

I've been MIA again, I know. I started my new job Monday, and am trying to get used to working 5 days a week. The hours are 8-4 pretty much. After next week I go part-time.

Mary, I hope your work day goes well.

Siri, beautiful Pic. I bet there's a cottage nearby in there somewhere. I'd love to move in.

    Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Edit to add: I don't like the new format on the homepage. But maybe it will grow on me.

    Good morning!

It's been a quiet few days here, working on a few projects and I picked up another small one. This morning, my husband and I are going out to breakfast with our daughter - her request. Then, I'll spend the day doing some work and this evening, around supper time (I'd better check what time!), my youngest son comes home from his trip to Greece. I am so excited to hear all about it.

On the not so good side, my antibx course finished last week and I was *so* good about taking them, never missing a dose. My finger was getting a lot better and now, the infection is taking over again. Guess who has to go back to the dr again tomorrow?

On Tuesday, I go meet with a place where I'll be doing home care on a very casual basis. I explained that I am not looking for any type of regular work, just casual as I need it and they were ok with it. So, this week I go get the paper work done, next week I do a two-day orientation and then they'll be calling me as they need me. I did this many, many years ago so it will be nice to do again. But, my thumb has to be better first!

Hi, Kat. Good to see you. (yes, I want to live in that cottage, too).

I never go to the home page. Looked there yesterday and the changes are there. But, I use the "last 24 hours" link and everything is there!!

Hope you are enjoying the new job.

    Hello, clemmm,

I know you are excited about the visit with your son. Let us know all about it.

Sorry about that finger (I was afraid something like this would happen for it sounded like a rip-roaring infection from the beginning). Hope you can contain it and it will resolve!!!!

Enjoy your breakfast this morning with dd and dh.

    my Lovelies!

A bright and beautiful day out there.. just wish the temperature matched the looks of it. It's still a chilly 23 degrees out there. But it will warm up all week and Friday it will be in the 70's.

Soooooooooooooo... what is everyone into today?

Clemm.. can't wait to hear about your son's adventures. I have always wanted to visit Greece, but that was one place I never did get to.

Cyberkat.. where are you working now? Think you'll like it?

You just chilling today, Siri? Did you ever go to your Fla. convention?

And where is our Ms.tnbutterfly ???

Not much going on here today. Going to take it easy. Have some puttering to do in the basement, and I need to run down the road to Pati and Roo's house and check things out there. The girl that was renting it has moved out, and in with her boyfriend. So the house is empty again.

Actually, it couldn't have been better timing. Now when they all arrive, Pati and Roo can put all their luggage, etc. in their house, and even sleep there nocs and shower there, etc. Of course they want to spend the first few nocs here to help with Mutti and her transition, but after that, they can just use their house to sleep and shower, etc. and make things a little less chaotic here, as our house is so small. We've got a huge airbed I'm going to take down there and an extra coffee maker, so they can take their time getting up in the mornings, shower, and enjoy a quiet cup of coffee before they come up here to the "madhouse". :chuckle

Well, speaking of coffee... time for my refill!

ooops ! Hi there Mary ! Hope your work day is a smooth and peaceful one.

OK.. just read through the rest of yesterday's thread. I sure have missed a lot the past couple weeks, huh?

So Siri and tn have been to Fla. and back.. and I missed hearing about all the fun and mischief they got into ! Wow.

Di.. I'm so sorry about your sis's mishap! OUCH. External fixator? We do a lot of those BID dressing changes in HH. Hope she heals up quickly and her pain is managed well.

Renee... yes, I'm familiar with Chandler, and Glendale is right near where Mom used to live (Sun City West). There are several dialysis clinics all around there, very nice ones. One just outside of SCW, and one inside SCW as well. I think Glendale may even have one.

Of course, you might find real opportunities being a sitter anywhere in that area (for the elderly, that is).. or private nurse. All kinds of good opportunities abound.. I'm sure you'll find something good. Can't wait to hear more once you get out there!

    hi, jnette.

i will say that tn was hit on a couple times. she handled it with aplomb!!! lol!!

    so, when does mutti arrive?

tn was hit on??? oh my, how fun ! :d
and you got to meet other allnurses members, too! i bet you all had the best time! good for you !!! that sure made your conference a whole lot more enjoyable, i'm sure!

mutti arrives a week from tuesday. i work this week through friday, then i'm off. will have the weekend and monday to tie up all the last little remaining chores and loose ends. the big stuff is done now, except for the bathroom spring cleaning. but as tiny as our bathroom is, that won't take too long. and dh still has to install the bath grip bars. he just went to town to get a masonry bit to do just that. the ramp is built.. just needs to be painted. he'll do that this week, too.

i'm trying to remain calm. i don't do well with "chaos"...i'm so set in my little organised "routines", that when things are helter-skelter i get all flustered. too many ppl talking to me at once, too much "stuff" laying around, things out of their "designated place".. that kind of thing. that's what happens to ocd peeps like me. :stone
and of course now that the house has been thoroughly spring cleaned, i'll notice every little crumb, thread, or piece of lint that falls on the floor and rush to pick it up (more so than i already do!) and make a total fool of myself.

i really want to enjoy pati and roo as well, so i'm hoping mutti will be on her best behavior, so we can at least have a little fun time together, too.
i'm sure it will take mom several weeks to readjust.. heck, i don't know if she'll even remember our place at all, although she's visited and stayed with us for a couple weeks over mother's day for years.

it's going to be interesting. yeh. very interesting.

    Afternoon all

It's mother's day here in the UK and although it is sunny now, it was snowing earlier. I am home for the weekend but bizzarely I was sitting in a t-shirt only 3 days ago when I was in the south of the UK - the weather sure is weird right now...

Nice to see you all - seems like I missed a lot going on whilst I was away...

Hi Jnette. I'm here in and out.

My job is case management for worker's comp. One thing I think I'll like is during the training so far, we're pushed hard that patient advocacy comes first and the close second is, of course cost effectiveness. But we feel the patient needs something, but the insurance company balks, it's our job to convince the insurance that the whatever is necessary and will save money in the long run.

I've spoken with other companies that feel very differently and that money is the primary driver, so I went with this one even though pay is a bit less.

I do think it's an interesting field and can be rewarding. I already have 4 open cases and will get up to 10-15 when I'm on my own.

Why do I keep getting a 'enter password to authenticate' every time I do something in this thread??? It's from something Milan...

Jnette, hope the visit goes really well. And relax! Nobody but you is going to notice that little scrap of lint or whatever. Just be you, I'll bet your place looks fantastic. (I do the same thing, so I know whereof I speak...grin.)

Siri, as usual you've found a really beautiful picture for the morning. I love every one you've posted. Glad you're back safe and sound from Florida.

Cyberkat, I don't like the new front page either. Maybe I'm just resistant to change. But it seems awkward.

    Good morning all!

We had a garage sale yesterday, so today I need to clean up the aftermath. I woke up in the middle of the night with a little shock of horror, realizing I left the couch outside the garage, in the driveway. LOL. The neighbor said they wanted it, but they never came over and took it away. I remember at dinner thinking, I need to go drag it back into the garage until they get here....and that was the last thought I gave it until about 3:00 AM. I hope the other neighbor's cat didn't come by and shred it.
