    Good mornin' everyone!

DH is heading out of town for biz, he'll be back today, though. Kiddos are at church.

I need to get a bunch of reading & assignments completed, and I really need to conquer the laundry today as well.

I hope you all have a great Sunday!
Hi, Fun. Hope you are having a good day and watch lots and lots of football. It's good for ya, just like pickles.

Well... Siri, guess both our teams suk right now. Our Va Tech Hokies are usually sooooooooooooo good ! They are what first started getting me in the least bit interested in and excited about football a few years back. But I guess they can't be good 100 % of the time, eh?

Well. just relaxing here at home. Nothing much going on. Need to iron some uniforms for this week and that's pretty much it.

How horrible about that tornado in Indiana.

Fran.. always great to see you pop in, my friend ! Here's something just for you.

Tweets.. glad you enjoyed your yoga ... wanna share that salmon salad? *drool*

Siri.. enjoy your day at home. You've had a busy week. I often find I spend more quality time with God at home than I do at church. One doesn't need to be in the physical building to worship God. "Church" means "believers".. not a "building".

OK.. will check in again later to see what you all are into. Might take a short snooze.. just because I can.

Good morning all! Thinking of those affected by the tornado . . . anyone here in the general area???

Fonenurse, that soup does sound good! Homemade or bought'n?? If homemade, I want the recipe too!

Deb, hope you feel better every day. Colds are such a bummer!

Mary Ann, hope the shift ended quietly, and you enjoy a good sleep and your "up" time!

Tweety, it sounds like a healthy day for you! A friend at work attends the spinning class at his gym, and loves it! Well, most of the time . . he said he had one instructor that just hadn't a clue, seemed bent on killing everyone off (cranking the resistance down too high, too fast, not checking pulses at all, etc. You've heard of the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld? I guess she was the Spin Nazi . . .). . .

Hooooo - Weeeeeeeeee -- I slept in this morning! Reason??? It's a long story, will try to make it as brief as possible:

Youngest ds is camping w/teacher and a few classmates in Joshua Tree this weekend. Fri. nite I worried about him being cold @ nite, so after lunch yesterday I drove out to their campsite to deliver a blanket and the mattress pad (eggcrate pad we'd forgotten to have him take). I found the campsite, but they were gone on a geo cache, so I took a short walk and then waited for them in my car. When they arrived I delivered the goods (he was appreciative!) and drove out . . .

It was just getting dark, around 5:30, and I drove the 11 miles to the entrance station, then the 6 miles to the highway. Now, Highway 62 is this loooooooooooooooooooooooong stretch of road that slices through the upper desert: Morongo Valley, then Yucca Valley, then Joshua Tree then 29 Palms, then on to Needles -- just straight through, gaining elevation all the way. So I'm just about to turn onto the Highway, heading south towards home, when dh calls me on the cell phone. He's on his way, is about 10 miles from where I am! We arrange a meeting place, and I find out his mission: to visit a musician buddy who just moved to 29 Palms! He has the other car loaded with all the instruments (4 of his 6 banjoes and my guitar)!

We've known C. since college days -- gotta be over 30 yr!! He is a TREMENDOUS banjo/guitar/mandolin/fiddle player, and just a nice guy. I was impressed that dh came out, as he does NOT like to drive our other car long distances (the mechanic says it's fine, he'd trust it anywhere . . . but it's 18 yr old!!), and he doesn't like to drive at night (now we have two cars 2 hr from home, at nite, with 2 drivers -- you do the math!!), and he SO prefers staying at home with the cats, dinking on the puter!! So, I gathered this was VERY important to him (my feminine intuition, ya know!! ).

We arrived around 7:00 and stayed till MIDNIGHT, just talking and jamming . . dh re-adjusted his banjo (changed the bridge, adjusted the action, fine-tuned the sound) -- a banjo he's always admired . . I told C. I even saw traces of dh's drool on it, from years ago .

So, it was a very nice visit. We got home, however, at 2:30 a.m.!!! (it would have been earlier but we stopped for a midnight snack . . . and it was CROWDED, if you can believe it! There were three cars behind us in the drive-through -- the guys in the second car walked up to the car behind us and started a conversation w/the girls in that car: "so, what are you two doing tonight???? . . ." while they were waiting for their food The young man who waited on us said it was busy because they'd had a football game in the area, it was homecoming and the Marines were out cruising on Sat. nite. Needless to say, we were VERY careful driving home @ 1:00 in the morning!!)

So, I slept in, OK?? Dh is still snoring . . .

OK, I better get going on the laundry. . I'm to pick up youngest ds @ 1:00 pm today.

    Later! ---------- D

Jnette, that is just TOOOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTEEEEEEEE!!! (and SO true!! ALL our cats have, shall we say, 'chosen' us!!) "No, we're NOT going to keep them!" "Don't name them!" "Well, you can name them but we're finding good homes for them!"

Yeah, well, we did that; they have a good home, alright!!
