Good Sunday Morning, Sept 25!

  1. Good morning to all, wakey-wakey!

Rise and shine, it's time to get out of bed
    and stand on your head
    till your face turns red!!

How about some pancakes this morning?? I like mine thin or thick, doesn't matter, with butter and applesauce. Occasionally I like them with warmed syrup, but only every now and then.

QOD: How do you like YOUR pancakes?

Back to menu: fresh pineapple and strawberries, beverage of your choice (both hot and cold). How about some protein? Ummmmmmmmmm, . . .. some bacon or sausage perhaps? I'll take vegetarian meat, thank you.

Hope everyone has a good day. We're to get chores done in the morning, then dh and I will head out to Oak Glen to do some music there with friends. Kind of a practice for next week's festival in Joshua Tree, the annual Gram Fest (google it!). We'll be helping with fill-in music there on Sat. nite. Should be fun -- different for us, as there will be professionals as well as amateurs, and dh and I have never helped w/something like this -- and this was by invitation! I doubt the others in our little group have, either, before this. We were asked what the name of "our group" is. Name?? Name, you say?? Why, we just meet every Thurs at Mr. Crum's Donut House to jam. . . . So we decided they could call us Mr. Crum's Jam. Will let you know how it goes. They said we could do gospel, too, so we're set; as long as we can mix in some gospel, we're OK!

Ah, the kids are done w/showers. My turn, then on to bed!!

'nite to all, till tomorrow! Angie, hope you're feeling better. Leslie, thinking of you, wherever you are. Miss you. Jnette, hope you and Pati and Roo are having a great time!! Tell us all about it, please! Everyone else: Woot!!

I like the homemade whole wheat pancake dough my mother-in-law makes and I like my pancakes thick and covered in butter with just a little syrup.

    Oh, and Good Morning

Here at work - only 4 patients. 2 RN's and NO CNA It looks like I will get to complete the ACLS class this morning at 8 a.m. since we don't have over 5 patients. Been studying since 4 a.m. and my brain needed a rest.

Our Harvest Dinner was oh so delicious. Ran home at 7 p.m. to study for a bit and then off to bed.

Has anyone ever seen an eye color change in a dying patient? My kid's uncle died a week ago of CA (started in prostate and spread). In his last few days his eyes changed from brown to blue and then when he died, back to brown. His family was asking me . . . I've asked other nurses and one doc. No one knows. Ever seen it?

    Off to study more . . . .

Deb, have a WONDERFUL and safe time! And do tell us all about it when you return, K?

    Hey Donny, enjoy church!

Steph, I don't have anything to add about the eye color change . .
will be interested to see if anyone posts about it.

Mary Ann, hope your shift wasn't too bad, and that you and your dh had a nice breakfast together.

BTW, I like to put a little corn meal in my pancakes (dh loves them!). I really don't make them too often. When I do, Krusteaz is my friend!

    Hi Tweety!

Hi Dianah....thanks for starting the thread and serving us breakfast this morning. It's almost noon for me, but I just signed on. My favorite are Belgian Waffles, but I like pancakes too. I like them not to thin/not to thick...just right with warm syrup on them, and a little oleo/butter/whatever I may have in the fridge at the time. I prefer bacon over sausage. Whenever I eat sausage, my stomach hurts afterwards. Hmmm...:uhoh21: I rarely eat pork anyway, so that may be the reason. Bacon will bother me too if I eat too much of it. About the only pork I may eat several times a YEAR are BBQ ribs. Otherwise, pork and I don't mix. I'll take strawberries, pineapple, or any fruit besides prunes. Don't like those things. Have fun at the festival today. I didn't make the Polkfest last night. Had other things I needed to get done. Perhaps next time.

Hi Mary Ann....hope you are catching some zzzzz's about now.

Hi Tweety. Hope you are enjoying your four day break from the J-O-B!

Hi mercyteapot...hope your day is going well today.

Hi Steph...you really need to have your hospital pay my roundtrip ticket to their hospital and hire me. FOUR patients would be HEAVEN compared to the SEVEN patients some hospitals assign per nurse. I've never heard of eyes changing colors before death, etc. Interesting. :uhoh21: Good luck with ACLS. Enjoy your day today!

Hi Donny...I'm having church right now in my living room with BET (Channel 68 here). It's a gospel musical by today's favorite gospel artists. Although I am more into Contemporary Christian Music and music sung by the Maranatha Singers, I have a love for modern gospel music, and some traditional gospel. I'm exercising to the music. I use food cans when I do my upper arm exercises. My "future husband" is singing right now. His name is BeBe Winans.:blushkiss Ever since my first divorce at age 35, I have wanted to marry that man. He's awesome!

Hi Deb.....wish I were going to the beach with you and your family. I luv that kind of R&R. Have fun...I know you will! We'll miss you while you are away, but will feel good about you being gone because you and the family are taking some much needed time to relax and have fun with one another. And that's what families should do as often as they can. :icon_hug:

    Hi Donny

Hezekiah Walker was also one of the singers on this morning's gospel fest. Some gospel music I can handle, just like some secular music I can handle. I'm not into the "rap songs" whether they be gospel rap, or secular rap. Just not something I have ever been able to make sense of. If the music has great tone, great singers whose voices blend nicely, and the words have meaning to me, then I like the music. BeBe Winans and CeCe Winans songs are contemporary gospel songs.......I have always loved their music. I also have a triple CD collection of Hill Song's music which I love, and play almost daily. I have a triple CD titled "Ultimate Worship Collection" that gets played almost daily by me. I love Amy Grant's music, used to really be into Sandi Patti's music in my twenties and thirties, but don't hear her music much anymore. One of my favorite songs today is "I Can Only Imagine". Ooooo how that song melts my heart and soul whenever I hear it. Traditional hymns I love are "Amazing Grace, His Eye Is On The Sparrow, The Lord's Prayer, Precious Lord, The Messiah", and many others, but those are my a few of my all time favorites.

Hi everyone. Wow this is the weakest GM thread I've seen yet. Hope everyone is out having fun or having a decent shift. We are having a family day. Can't get enough of those it seems.

Steph: I've never heard of eyes changing colors exept my mom said right before her sister died her blue eyes became bright and sparkling. Also I've seen multiple time peoples wrinkles relax the day of death. The skin looks smooth and young suddenly. Though there may be a physiological reason for that.

    Have a great night all.
