Good morning folks.
I'm at work, but we're adequately staffed and I have my orientee with me still. We have 8 patients. We were going to be short, but they played a dirty trickk on a nurse from another floor. She was asked to come in as her floor was short, she came in and they floated her here. She didn't want to leave us short handed, but she was understandable upset. This place is always the pits in the winter. I'll be glad when summer is hear and our "season" ends.
opps...call light going off. bye!

Tweety, hope your night at work is going ok, how much longer until you go to day shift? I bet you're ready for that.
Mary Ann, thanks for the breakfast, you went all out! Hope your night at work is going ok too.
I can't sleep at all, but I'm so exhausted. I keep thinking about what happened today at clinical. I feel like a wimp. I've always liked my ER clinicals and I could handle it, but today a burn victim came in, she was doused with gasoline by a guy that was stalking her and then he set her on fire, all while her 2 year old watched the whole thing. The little boy was ok, but she was transferred to a bigger hospital in critical condition. It was just awful
I try to sleep and I just have nightmares about all this. I think I just need a good nights sleep and then I'll feel better maybe *sigh*

tweety, good for you. you must have felt like you were on vacation. but that poor nurse who was floated to your floor sure got the short end of the stick. i'd be spitting fire.
happy lincoln's day to you too, mary ann. wow, what a breakfast. i'll have something later. it's too early for me yet. i eat after taking my meds. it's easier on my stomach. i'm glad your shift went well.
rain dreamer, :icon_hug: what a horrible experience! and you're still a student, aren't you? that'll be etched into your mind now. may i suggest you talk to some of the nurses who work in the burn unit section? they may be able to give you some advice. you definitely need to talk that down (debrief). if not, you may not be able to finish nursing school. and that poor little boy. how very traumatic for him! a similar thing happened to my nephew when he was around 6. only it didn't involve any human lives. the saw mill next to their trailor burned down, and it melted some of the siding on their trailer. he had to go to counseling all throughout his childhood after that. he would go into a trance, and you could see he was experiencing what he witnessed all over again.
it's going to be so strange around here without you. oh how i hope you'll be able to have access to a computer once in a while so you can let us know how you're doing. we're going to miss you.
good morning, pete. itchy and scratchy got me up again, so i decided to come say good morning to everyone before i get tired enough to go back to bed.
umm, jnette. it sounds like some kind of a critter got into your computer and is messing it up for you. i have spyware stormer on mine as well as error guard to keep my computer running correctly. accuweather uses spyware stormer, and error guard corrects things that get messed up. hope you can solve the problem without too much fuss.
well, i guess i'll go back to bed now. the itching seems to have subsided a bit. i'm going to have to ask my friend dave it there's any other anti-itch medication besides benadryl and atarax. neither of them work very well on me. in fact, benadryl iv stings like crazy when it's going in. see ya all later, maybe.
