Hey Barb!! I plan on celebrating the 4th by declaring independence from my worries, and leave them with my higher power. I'm sick to death of worrying about everything when I have zero control over it. So, with that said, I'm gonna try and RELAX and ENJOY this weekend. God must have something is store for me, or my journey would be a lot easier, but that's for Him to figure out. I'll just live life the best I can.

Good morning from this side of the world.
Where is everyone this morning, or afternoon for me.?..................

Marie's flight left at 6am this morning. I have a new student arriving from Seoul tomorrow night, so she will be staying at the house for a few days until we can get her settled. Never a dull moment around here.

We had to cut Sabrina's hair becuae of some mats that happened while she was in heat. She looks like a puppy with her haircut. Many people actually thought that I got a new dog, until she ran up to give her usual kisses. will try and post a picture of her tonight. She is so little to begin with and without all of the hair, she is really a little peanut.

The holiday isn't celebrated over here, and we have fireworks several times per month so it will be work as usual.

All of you, please try to keep it a safe one...................

Morning, all! I am up preparing for another dreadful night at work on the 3rd. *sigh* At least it's just one stinkin day, though. I'm off sunday, monday and tues. Tuesday I have to go to the university and get my stuff straightened out for summer II semester. Let's pray they have the financial aid stuff together now!!

I read 7/2's discussion, but decided to skip here to post my response. Kate, thanks for the Houston reminders. I just don't want to have anything more to do with Texas after this HORRIBLE adventure here. Seriously, my rational brain says that all of Texas can't be this terrible, but my emotional brain says RUN RUN RUN and don't ever deal with texas again. So we shall see. And congrats on that 'A' mama!! :hatparty: I KNOW you worked your butt off for it. When do you start the job?? And sorry if you've already answered these questions, I'm just a little slow on the uptake lately.

Fran and Deb, thanks for caring. The two of you have quite enough to be dealing with yourselves right now.

Kim, I swear some days I feel like we are cosmic sisters. If I hadn't sold all of my nursing books back for the $$, I'd be glad to loan them to you. However, when the time comes for NCLEX review needs, I have TONS of CD's to loan. That is quite a while off still, but at least you know that's one thing that never has to make it to the worry list. :chuckle: When is the first day of term for you, mama??

Mickie, I'm glad to hear that your daughter was doing ok. Big (((((((((HUGS)))))))) to both of you!

I feel guilty for burdening you all with my issues, but at the same time, it's nice to know that there are friends to be had here!

For the holiday, the community we live in is having a community-wide BBQ on Sunday. It's BYOM (bring your own meat) and they will cook it for you. You also have to bring a side dish to be shared. I'm actually looking forward to that, seeing as how we don't have many friends here, and I don't socialize outside of work d/t not having friends here. I think this should give us a chance to meet some more families like mine. OR at least that's the plan. We had planned on going over to South Padre Island to see the fireworks, but it's just too much hassle. The fireworks are beautiful over the water, and they let off about $50,000 in fireworks, so it's a huge display, but there are SOOO many people there, and we just don't want to deal with it. Hopefully we'll find some fireworks here in town to see. But if not, we can always go to the island next weekend and catch Friday night's show, since they have one q friday night during the summer.

Maybe we'll go to the beach Monday instead for a day trip. Actually, that sounds great. I think I'll tell dh that's the plan.

Ok, and if any of you have any info on hospitals in or around the denver/colorado springs area or Winston-salem or charlotte, NC areas, I would appreciate a PM with details!! Because my sanity is important and I've gotta bail on this place soon.

Thanks for listening, and have a great 4th of July!

    I work tomorrow night & the 4th & Monday.
All the docs will probably be "covering" for each other.

I plan to stop by for BBQ and sing patriotic songs at my sisters. If I am too tired the potatos are cooked, will make them into salad tomorrow.

Hope to stay away from allnurses so as to get enough sleep for three 12s in a row.

Just watched "Love Actually". What an absolutely delightful movie. Colin Firth is such a cutie too.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Man..my sleep pattern is all disturbed here. I'm up way too early again

[font=Comic Sans MS]Just want to wish everyone a good day and a safe and happy 4th whatever your plans are.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Today I am getting beautified--got an appointment to have a highlight done and get my eyebrows waxed. Can't stand plucking those pups one at a time. I'd rather lie down on a nice comfy heated bed with aromatherapy candles burning and get them done all at once.....less than 5 minutes and I'm done. But it'll be a long time sitting in the chair while Angela "foils me" but it will be worth it in the end.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hope everyone is doing well! Hugzzz & cheers all around.

suzanne......good to see you here. i'm sure you are already missing marie huh? but we'll be happy to have you back contributing!

nekhismom....... (((((((((brandy?))))))))) i think i caught your name from maybe leslie's post the other day? anyways........i know things will work out okay for you in the long run. you could come on up here to ny too. the cost of living is low, the people are nice (for the most part) and the area is gorgeous!! i am sure i'll be taking everyone up on the offers of using their nclex reviews and books when the time comes.

spacenurse.....it's hard to tear yourself away from here, huh? lol!

tweety.......i don't remember what "love actually" is about?

suzy...i'm sick of plucking too and it's on my to-do list today! lol!

    deb........hi!!!!! good morning sunshine!

mickie.....i am so, so, so glad that shayna is okay!!! praise god that he held her in the palm of his hand and protected her!

fairy......lol @ the dog. we used to do that with my little mutt too....she looked so funny but was so happy in the summer!

diana.....i'm not sure which kind of eye candy i prefer? bwahahahahaha!!!!!

to all of you who have sent me recent emails: i am not letting myself off this computer until i answer them. i am soo good at coming here and terrible at answering emails. i'm very sorry.

now, yesterday since i got the whole kitchen done and ran to pick up the last few odds and ends for the party today, i don't have a long list. it looks like this:
*picking up my bedroom and organizing my closet
*go through kids tote of art supplies for yard sale and wrap presents
*get backyard ready for swingset (dh job)
*pack the kids stuff to go
    *do dishes
    *pick up house

and that's it!!! easy day for me today!!!! woooohooo! then tomorrow i'll only have to tie up loose ends and wipe down the bathroom and i will have everything in order for me to be able to relax the first day of school.

the kids' birthday party is at 3 at my aunt's house. she got finding nemo plates, etc and i ordered a nemo cake. it's the only theme we could come up with that they both like and that would work for both a boy and a girl.

it is going to be an absolutely gorgeous day here today and i cannot wait to have some relaxation time at the party, though with my mil there it won't be tooo relaxing. our fireworks aren't until tomorrow night and it's supposed to rain so we'll see if we actually make it there or not.

qod: what is your favorite children's or family movie? mine is monsters inc. that movie just cracks me up.....the kids made me watch it about 100 times when they first saw it and i actually didn't mind! lol!
okay, i'm outta here to catch up....

    hugs all around..........

Chris, you'll have to take some pics at Ground Zero. Have fun with the beer, burgers and hot dogs!

I'll be spending the day with family tomorrow and enjoying Monday off also. Hoping to go out with one of my girlfriends Monday for lunch and shopping. Not much going on in the OR on Tuesday either. This is good, yet boring at the same time. I'm used to non-stop action. LOL Oh well going to take the opportunity to learn where all the stock is kept so that when I circulate I'm not rummaging.

Beautiful day today, heading to the mall for latte and a manicure!
