Good morning Steph and ertravelrn. I hope your shifts are/were uneventful. And your upcoming sleep, ertravelrn, is sweet.

I've got to get to the bank this AM so I'd best be moving. You all have a wonderful God blessed day.

:smilecoffeecup:Good morning all. I haven't checked in in a while. i've kind of been living in a whirlwind. Work has had me really busy (but in a good way). Firstly, all of Marc's tests have come back okay. There is no cancer in the section in his thyroid that was removed. Even his thyroid levels are normal (he's about the only person I know that ISN'T on thyroid hormone).

My dad had a massive heart attack while at home on Thursday. Thankfully, my mom is ACLS certified and was with him. He was brought to the rural hospital nearby by ambulance and was given clotbusters right away. It took them forever to stablize him for transport out and he had to be defibrilated on 3 separate occasions. By the time I saw him in the city he was sedated and intubated and restrained in the cath lab. They didn't have any critical care beds there so the had to transport him out to yet another hospital. This ended up being a good thing because this is the biggest hospital in the city and just opened up a state of the art critical care wing. It was an unbelievably scary night and my heart sped up whenever I saw someone in uniform approaching me. By 3 am they were urging us to go home and get some rest. The next morning (yesterday) he was thankfully off the respirator and was talking and appropriate. It's been difficult for me to understand what's going on because I still have to look back in the books and refamiliarize myself with what his ekg rhythms mean and what right sided heart entails. A lot of what I was told by the cardiologist went over my head because it was directed at my mom who understands the language of cardiac care. I'm still processing what I was told, and her explanation of things.

Anyway Dad was eating full meals last night, his color was good and he was very talkative (trying to peice together what happened). The whole family (minus dad) debriefed over thai/laos food at the restaurant next to the hospital and I went to sleep because I HAVE to work today. I'll keep you posted.

(((((((Adrien))))))) What a blessing you've had that Marc came through with flying colors. Thank God for that. And thank God that your Dad looks to be on the road to recovery. Isn't it amazing how he has a wife so knowledgable in handling that emergency? Then the hospital transfers that led him to just the best hospital for his needs. I'm glad you were able to get some sleep through all that turmoil and fear. Going in to work is probably the best thing for you, to keep to the usual routine. God bless you and your family. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi ya Tweety. How are you doing and what are your plans for this lovely day? I already spent a half hour quietly at the beach this morning. Lovely breeze, birds flying about and a warm sun shining down on us. Very peaceful...before the kids start arriving and romping about.

Netters, summer's less than 3 months away. But our warmer temps are coming fast. And so is your family. It sound like you're well prepared. But remember, everything doesn't have to be 100% perfect. You'll be too worn out to enjoy their arrival. I'm going to show my complete ignorance. Is the chiminea for warmth, mood or cooking. I've been intrigued by them. I think I'd take it strictly for mood.

Adrienne, I hope your dad continues to improve (did he get a stent or two in the Cath Lab?).

Steph, sorry you got called to work . . I couldn't see Spidey's picture, there's a red "X" in it's place, in the Photo Gallery. I'm sure it was cute!

Gotta go, see y'all later (and, I'm SO glad the site is back up!! WOOT!)! --- D

Steph...Thanks for starting the thread. I hope your day at work goes well.

ertravelrn..... Hi!!! Don't believe I've met you. Welcome to the loony bin. (Of course I'm one of the sane ones....but don't tell. We have to pretend to be crazy.) I hope you get some sleep today since you had to work last night.

Marilyn.... At the beach already?!?!?! No fair!!! I want to come and join you. How nice that you live so near the beach.

Adrien.....Good news about Marc's results. But WOW about your dad. How scary. Glad he's OK.

Tweety....You really must try to control your verbosity. HaHaHa Hope you're having a great day.

jnette....More cleaning????? Goodness woman. There's not gonna be anything left of you.

Di.....Howdy. What's on your schedule for today?

Yep... atmosphere. Like your own little outdoor fire place.. but the fire is contained, therefore safer. On cool evenings, it also provides warmth.. the furniture is set around the chiminea, so everyone can just swing, glide and stare at the flickering flames and enjoy the warmth it provides as well.

There are also some nice "firepits" on the market now, too, covered with wire mesh. They are nice as well. But I think I like the chimineas best.

No fair going to the beach without me.
That is my alltime favorite way to start my day... a quiet walk on the beach in the wee hours of the morning. Lucky you.

LOL.. I've already lost about 6 lbs. just working my a$$ off around here the past month. I needed to lose some of that rump anyway.

But this now is enjoyable cleaning... I far prefer to work outdoors. What are YOU into today?

OK.. time for a break.. raisin toast and OJ.
