Good Morning Tues. Dec. 28,2004

  1. Good Morning All! Everyone is welcome here, so come on in and talk.

For breakfast today, bacon, eggs, toast, coffee, and tea, and juice.

Hope everyone has a great day. I am doing the shopping thing again before all the good sales go off.

Had to change my avatar as some people (you know who you are ) did not agree with it! I like this one better. Guess you can tell my age now huh?

    Hugs

Gee, I wonder how old Tom Selleck is now. That show was on in the 70s.

Good morning! I'm off to the gym. I'm going to try to get more discipline in my life regarding certain sings as I begin my BSN program. Sorry for boring you so much with it, but it is a big deal to me. I won't be posting much here after next week either as my priorities change. But don't worry, I can't resist my two cents here and there.

I'm trying to eat a little better too, so I'll just take a little eggs and whole grain toast please.

Been feeling a little under the weather the last couple of weeks and hopefully am on the tail-end of that. I'm falling apart. 45 years of robust health and I can't seem to feel good. (Yes, I'm going to the doctor.)

I think my Tuesday night movie group of friends is going to see the Phantom of the Opera tonight after a dinner. Will be good to get with friends and see a movie.

Man alive, ever since the semester has ended, my bio-clock has switched! I'm awake during the nights and asleep during the days.

I think my new nickname is going to be the "Terror of downtown Buffalo!"

Anyways, I'm switching my clock tonight. Starting off the day with some boxing (havent' boxed in over three weeks thanks to final exams! I know my arms are going to DIE! :uhoh21: ) followed by much needed snow-shovelling and a shower. I think I'll treat myself to a nice dinner tonight. Probably make me some vegetable pulao.

Need to do grocery shopping - ugh! Sucks when you don't have a car

Lil' girl, you're right. I was thinking it started in the late 70s, but I searched and found it ran from 1980 to 1988.

Roy, you're probably going to have to be a 3rd shift worker. Although after 25 years of it, I've had enough. But when I was your age, I was definately the same way, up all night sleep all day. Really hurt when early morning clinicals started.

All the more reason for me to fix myself before next semester. All most ALL my classes start early in the morning.

I think people from Texas or Florida come up with the timings for my classes. Don't these guys know how COLD it is at 7 in the morning?! It's evil to make little boys and girls get out of a warm, cozy bed at 6 in the morning for a 7 o clock class/clinical. Absolutely evil

(ok ok... I'll go to bed now.)

    Good Morning Little Family,

I'm at work, so may have to leave fast; on break right now, but you all know how that can be!! The Place is HOPPING!!

I guess betweem Mon. 0600 & when I came at 2300, the census almost doubled!! WOW!! So far just one admit on my shift. I am still orienting.
She's just such a nice young girl!!And doing so well, so professional.

Tweety, I for one, will miss your posts, so I hope you don't cut down too much!!
I know you are going to be doing on-line BSN completion, but will you still be full-time at work? I know the day-shift part. I've vowed to start eating healthier & starting an exercise routine. I have to start kind of slow with the exercise program--don't want to end up having a stroke or something.Got to get the weight down a bit and then start some real exercises.

Roy, when do you start back to school?

Karen, I'm glad your 5 days off was good.

lilgirl, Thanks for breakfast.just eggs, coffee, juice.

So, guess I'd best get back to work
    See you guys later

Hi MaryAnn. We're having our busiest Xmas season ever. Just my luck because Sunday night I had to take nine patients. I'm definately going to have to continue to work 3 12's a week. I won't be doing any overtime like I tend to do though.

    Tweety,

How many classes are you taking this semester?

I just give you so much credit for doing this!!

Two classes. It's set up that each class is condensed into a half semester, so you're talking one accelerated course at a time. I'd rather take one class a semester, but this way I get done much more quicker. There's a little overlap this first semester between the two, so for two weeks I'm taking them both at the same time before one ends. There's one semester on down the line that there's three classes, condensed into 5 week sessions. I can't wait for that!

Here's the ciriculum I'll be taking. I need all these courses as they weren't in any of my undergrade courses so far. I'm starting of with "Concepts of Profressional Nursing" and Principles of Chemistry. They will give credit for adult health and leadership without taking any courses as they count your RN experience as fulfulling those courses.

It's going to be a major undertaking for me for sure. I'm sure I'll be whining and complaining, not to mention asking lots of questions.

Thanks for the support. Nothing personal, but I'm afraid I'm nearing the point where I'll say "at my age, it's not worth it", so it's now or never for me.
