Good (?) morning Thursday 10th

  1. Good morning everyone. I decided to start this morning because of the horrible news coming from London about another airplaine plot

The people arrested in London & the South are described as British born. Well as far as I'm concerned there's NOTHING British about them. Why do these people have to go & do things like this??? They can't possibly hope to gain from such acts!

Everyone stay safe, take care & give your family an extra hug this morning.

    RGN,

Sorry about your country's problems. Here's a hug for you :icon_hug:

Sorry, but someone else will have to get breakfast this morning. I'm so tired that my eyelids are drooping.

So, I'm heading to bed. :zzzzz

Good night or morning, whichever the case may be.

Everyone stay safe. Will see you when I get up later (hopefully in about 10 hours if I'm lucky).

    Morning all!
RGN--I've been up about 20 minutes and have heard that horrible news as well. It's just unbelievable. What is to be gained by loss of lives blowing up planes in midair?

    Diane--hope you're having a nice restful sleep.

Two more weeks of orientation/preceptorship then apparently on 8/27 we are set out on our own. Now that really scares me more than sitting thru the NCLEX. There's still so much to learn. Still so tired. I was in bed by 8 p.m. last night and I think I fell asleep around 8:30. Actually, I'm looking forward to my regular schedule of working 24 h/week rather than 40! I'm a bit too old for this. :spin:

    Good Morning
Well it is kind of good news because they were able to arrest those people before anything happened. The news just said that they were Al Qaeda.
Suzy don't worry about being on your own, you will still have your fellow nurses to ask questions so you aren't really ever alone. So don't sweat it.

Hi, RGN1. I just heard on our news that our highest terror level "red" is in effect for all planes coming in from England and the next to highest for all other flights. The world is going crazy and I'm afraid it's going to get worse. Sorry for the downer for our GM thread but that's the big news for the day. Guess we'll just have to increase our prayers for everyone's safety.

Diane, I hope you got some good sleep. You gotta take good care of yourself, you know. I do envy that 10 hours sleep, though.

Suzy, you will do just fine, just like you did with NCLEX. Concentrate on one day at a time. If I stew on more than that I tend to panic on occasion. Deep breath. It will all work out in its own time.

jmg, have a good day. You snuck in before I finished so I edited just for you.

I hope everyone has a good day/night/evening. I've go to work this morning.

Looking forward to my son coming home this Sat. He'll be coming home by plane so please pray for his safe travel.

God bless you all real good.

I agree the only good thing is that they caught these idiots before they were able to carry out their plot, which was to blow up at least 8-10 UK to USA flights over the Atlantic!!!

I wish it was El-Qaeda but sad to say it was our own delightful, homegrown talent. Maybe with links or aspirations to El Qaeda but firmly made in Britain!!

Prayers & hugs to all of you xxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Suzy, :icon_hug: :icon_hug:
Please, please remember that you are not off on your own!! There are more experienced nurses available to you. I always tell t he new RN's that I precept, that just because orientation is over, doesn't mean that you won't have questions!! I urge them to ask anything that they want--we were all new at one time--it's OK to ask MANY questions. After 40 yrs, I STILL ask questions!!
In fact, there is one new RN on day shift & he is always so apprehensive about the shift & I try to reassure him that it's perfectly OK to ask questions--no one will think less of him!!
PLEASE -- If there is anything to remember from orientation--it's that it is always OK to ask!!

Good Morning to All of you PEEPS!!

I'm still at work. It's been quite a busy nite!! And, not over yet!! At 0700, we have a staff mtg--but at least, we wrote our report out--cuts down on that nasty OVERTIME, you know!!
I'll be off Thurs and Fri nite!! But work the weekend.
Nothing special planned for my days!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!
My prayers to all of you who have asked.
I haven't had any real time to watch the news--but from what you all say, it isn't good news!!

    See you all later

    Good morning!

I'm trying to stay up late tonight, as I have to work tomorrow night and Friday night. Just finished watching Last Comic Standing and I was really happy with the results! Great laughs, great comics.

Suzy - I just got off orientation a couple of weeks ago, so I know just how you feel! I was scared to death that first night on my own, but it actually wasn't as bad as what I had feared. I think the fear and anxiety beforehand is so much worse than it actually is. My co-workers were all extremely helpful, always asking if I was doing ok and helped me out when I needed it. You'll be just fine, but I know it's a scary time. Heck, I'm still scared even now ..... I'm scared to go back to work tomorrow night. I guess that fear will be there for a long, long time though, right? We'll get through it though.

I think I'm headed off to bed now, I think this is late enough as I'm getting sleepy now. Gonna go read for a bit then off to slumber land. I hope you all have a great sleep and have a great Thursday!

Good morning all! I see the news and I'm glad they caught those folks. Today is DD's first day back at school. She's a 4th grader now. Getting way too big. I have to work tonight, but it should be ok, I hope census is still low.

    Good morning

Marilyn I will keep you and your family in my thoughts for your son's safe return home.

I hope you all have a great day today. Workday for me and nothing much planned...schoolwork and relax until worktime.

I'm saddened to hear about more terror plots ...it still amazes me that when I turn on the news channels, the ticker announces the "terror level" to me. I never in my life imagined that I'd experience "terror alert" messages. I don't consider myself that old, but I feel like the world has changed tremendously since my youth.

Geesh, somehow it doesn't seem fitting to end my post with "cheers".

Well, it is certainly a scary morning...

Beary is calmer today, but this all puts a little edge on things. My youngest brother is headed out on his "mission" until February. He called Mom and Dad to tell them good-bye and was a little choked-up which is unusual for him...he is never scared. I tend to wonder if he has to go to Bagdad...I don't know. What I do know is he has spent countless months studying and training for whatever it is he has to do. I know it involves bombs and other explosives, he is in the Navy in EOD. His wife and my little nephew are in Sicily...thank goodness she is so brave. Anything could happen, but should it, he would have went doing what he loved. Okay...enough...sorry.

That has been bothering Beary for many days now. Suzy..you will be fine. Beary still asks questions and she has been at it for over 17 years. (And I ask lots of questions too.)

Everyone stay safe and enjoy the day in some little or even big way!
