Ok, well since no one else is hangin around to start, I guess I will!

Good morning everyone! And welcome to our daily thread! You don't have to post here on a daily basis, just as you want, and pretty much whatever you want! This is just where we come to say hello and to keep in touch!

Anyhoo~ I talked to the oldest daughter last night (the one we have been having so much difficulty with). She sounded real good....even told me she had gotten saved the past Wednesday! I was so happy! I guess I will bide my time with her, cause you really just never know...

As soon as I hung up with her, the military daughter called. We had a nice long chat, and she's coming home TOMORROW!!!!! YAHOO!!!! :hatparty: For two glorious weeks.....
I didn't get my Daschund last night. Hubby called and called the people, but they never answered, so I don't know what's going on really. Hubby didn't want me to get another dog, so I dont know if he really did call or what!?!?!

But...I did get some good news from my "OLD" place of employment. I am offered to go back if I want. I have to call the DON today. She begged my husband to ask me to call her, said she would work with my schooling and really needs me.....hmmmm.... I think I may call her today!

I did some baking last night...cookies and our gingerbread house. That was fun. Today I am finishing up my shopping for my elves for Christmas, then I am working between 2p-6p.

What are you all doing today? :chuckle

    Good morning all!!

It's TGIF and I'm ready for the weekend! I started wrapping gifts last night and still need to get stocking stuffers, so I'm pretty good shape for Christmas! I really need to clean a little this weekend as the dust is getting bad. I haven't been cleaning because of the remodel, but it's starting to bug me. I am hoping they finish the roof today!

I'm going to ask for prayers for a co-worker's family. Her son and wife had a little girl two weeks ago which was born with severe birth defects. They have had a such a tough time of it. They finally have made the decision to turn off the life support. They are making arrangements today, I believe. This is so hard right before the holiday. They do have three beautiful little boys and a lot of family support. I would appreciate the prayers!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!

Good morning everyone! It's a freezing 29 degrees here in Ohio. I live about 3 miles from Lake Erie so we get all that wonderful lake effect stuff. Ick.

I passed my test yesterday. :hatparty: I got an A. Only one more test and the final project. If our group would just get it's collective act together. Nobody can figure out a time to meet. I hate group projects. I think I'll take a break from schoolwork today and focus on my house. It's a disaster area. I must have about 10 loads of laundry to do. I think I will show my husband how to do it, too, and see if he gets the hint.

All 3 of the older children are healthy enough for school today, so off they went. Caleb is sitting in my lap and wiggling around making typing very difficult. He wants me to play with him, which I will do shortly. He's such a fun little boy!
Julie, it's awesome that your daughter got saved!:hatparty: And woohoo on visiting with your other daughter! Sounds like you were really missed at your previous job!

Phn, I'm so sorry to hear about the little girl. What a difficult thing for your coworker and her family.

phn, sorry to hear about your coworker.

    Lisa, congrats on that A!

Julie, enjoy the visit with the soldier and I'm glad to hear the other one is sounding better.

I'm in between shifts. I was in charge last night the last 8 hours, but it went well. Not too much trauma drama.

Back for more fun tonight. My manager said it will probably be March before I can get on days because I need to orient someone, which is o.k. I've been on nights for 25 years, what's a few more months.

Good morning!!! Julie! It's been so long! I was just thinking of you the other day, wondering how you were, school, daughters. Thank you again for the support you offered me those months ago. As far as I know, my daughter is still doing her thing. My son and daughter-in-law are apparently happy, focused on their mutual irritation with me. (I've been bad. I won't drive 1200 miles so she can take my pic with the baby and have her photo album complete!!!)

Ya hafta getcher laughs somewheres!!! LOL

OK, most of the chortling is relief, but I'm so much better about it. They'll get their act together or they won't. Merry Christmas to them either way.

phn92, so sorry to hear about the baby. Of course, prayers for the safekeeping of the family, and for peace and acceptance for them.

Lisa! Good morning! Way to go, girl! Wow.

Hi, Angie, glad you are getting better. I hate the cold too--but console myself with lots of chocolate. (That is the purpose of chocolate, isn't it? Consolation for cold weather? )

Tweety, I cannot imagine nights for 25 years.... I've just recently got my mind wrapped around "nights" at all. BTW, I know I am late, but congrats to your spouse on his promo. Woooohoooooo!

Well, yesterday was a mixed bag, which, I guess, they all are. But things are better, looking up, I feel happy. Stuff's getting done. I don't feel overwhelmed.

And I've got the dogs where they will sit quietly (except for one loudmouth) and wait until called for meals or going outside. A small bit of order is finally here, after the latest chaotic influx of fur--when was that? July? Yish.

Life, and all its glories, goes on.

Peace, everyone. (And prayers for Leslie, her sister and their mom, also, please.)

    Hi

back Again, DH was calling!! He was trouble shooting a problem I had yesterday with the Photo Printer.

Anyway, Julie, Good to hear from you. I, too, was wandering how your daughters were doing. Will be nice to have Amanda (?) home. I remember I used to get her and Jnette's Adam mixed up!!

Phn, I will pray for your co-worker; I was also wondering how your Dad is doing? I haven't seen anything about him for a bit. Glad the house is coming along.

lisa, cold here in Chicago, but no snow on the ground. Glad the kids are better.

Chris, so good to see you!! When is it you will start your job? I can't wait to hear how things will go for you. They gave me another little nurse to precept om Tues. evening & I immediately thought of you!! I really love to precept!!Too bad about the Pup!! Boy, I wish I could get another dog--as i said yesterday, I don't think Barney would like that!! You know he's 9yrs old, & the other dog passed earlier this year & I really think he would not be real welcoming!!

Tweety, all I can say is that I'm glad you had a decent nite--I certainly know how those nites can be. I bet you make an awsome preceptor!! Your new nurse couldn't be in better hands

Lilgirl, Hope you have a great day!

Angie, glad you are feeling better; missed you here

    Have a great day everyone

Good morning everyone! It seems I get around to posting on this thread every few weeks, so it seems I'm due!
Today is a special day for my sister Jess, she's graduating from nursing school! I'm so happy and proud for her. She recently turned 30 and has been working toward this goal for about 10 years. She's had so many obstacles along the way, but I knew she would get there and I'm thrilled for her. She's going to be a fabulous nurse and all of her life experience will certainly help, plus she's been a CNA for years. Tonight we will go out to celebrate after her pinning ceremony, Whoooooot! Unfortunately I have to work 12's all weekend, but I have 5 days off at Xmas, so that more than makes up for it. I hope you all have a fantastic day
