Good Morning! Sunday December 26, 2004

  1. Hope everyone were good boys and girls on Christmas and that all who wished for Harleys or Diamonds got them . Just waking up. Putting on the coffee. Debating what I'm going to eat this AM. Got to work today, finishing a long stretch with a couple doubles. Will be spending my Christmas with my kids tomorrow (Monday)...I'm divorced. It works out better this way. I get to spend the whole day with my girls and not have to feel like I'm sloppy seconds on Christmas day, trying to squeeze my time in. My girls, 13 and 9, will have fun. Maybe, go out shopping. What? Did I say I have to work today? Oh yeah, I guess I do. My thoughts were just anxiously awaiting Monday. My mind drifted. Can't wait to see my girls. Any way, let me get my coffee. Hope everyone has a great morning and great day.

Good Morning! Where is everyone this morning?

I had a better night at work at last night. Busy but manageable. Only one nurse called out on Xmas Day, but they were able to float someone. Who was pleased about staffing another unit when she had guest at home and could have been called off, I understand that.

Back for more fun tonight, then off for four days. This will be my last stretch of days before school starts and I plan on enjoying them.

Can you believe this crazy weather. Snow in New Orleans and the deep south of Texas? We had 50 mph winds this AM around four that closed down bridges. Crazy.

Thunderwolf, I completely understand what you mean.
We get my husband's 2 girls today for Christmas. It's his year to get them on Christmas day itself, but the ex was being nasty so we just backed off to keep the peace and decided we'll take them on Boxing Day. We get them for a whole week so we're quite excited. I have a big sledding trip planned with pizza and hot cocoa after. I think I enjoy the sledding as much as they do! I'm looking forward to the visit too. We got them a Gamecube and they're going to freak. :P
Still, would have been nice to see them go nuts on Christmas Day, but I guess you take what you can get.

Tweety, we have a foot of snow on the ground and possibly more coming. It's absolutely gorgeous! If I didn't have to drive my husband's old rear-wheel drive firebird to work today I'd be even more excited. That thing has horrible tires and practically skates on ice! Though, I'd rather him drive my car to get the girls since they are 4 hours away and the ex refuses to meet us halfway. :angryfire All this ex and Christmas stuff really makes me second-guess having children of my own. Sometimes I think it's just not freaking worth it if something does happen down the line! I guess you can't live your life in fear of the unknown though. Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
It's off to work for me for a 12-hr shift and then another 12-hr shift tomorrow. Whew!

I guess I am a bit tense, what with that earthquake and all. My Mother just went to Chennai and she missed her weekly call-son-in-the-States schedule. Father hasn't called either - so yeah, I'm a bit worried.

Other than that Christmas Day was uneventful...

Good morning, one and all. Had a great day yesterday. Unfortunately we all seem to have come down with some crud and my house is full of coughing, sniffling, feverish folk...supposed to snow today (!!!) which will be cool since it'll be our first snowfall of the season...and we can all cuddle under blankets and watch it since we don't have to go anywhere.

Roy, I hope all is well with your family.

    Have a good day, everyone.

    Good morning all!!

I guess I'd better go check the news out, I didn't hear about an earthquake or snow down south!!
Roy, I hope everyone is ok in your family!

We had another 1/2" of the white stuff last night. I had a stomachache last night and didn't go to church this morning. I know I ate too much of the holiday goodies. Boy, it was good!! I'll try to rest my gut today!!
When we went to town yesterday, I saw how much snow was piled everywhere!! I'm not too sure how I will get to some of my pts tomorrow. I guess I'll park where I can and wear snow boots and wade thru!! The problem is my boots have just about had it!! I ordered a new pair from Mason, expensive but hopefully will last a lot longer than my Wal-mart pair!! The new pair haven't arrived yet!!!
I'm off in the morning to take my Mom for an endoscopy. I'm sure the hospital will be cleared off and shouldn't have any trouble getting there. She has been having chest pains again and she thinks it's her stomach again. She also has an appt with her cardiologist next week. I'm sure alot of this is stress from worrying about Dad! I'm glad she is getting checked out!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and peaceful Sunday!!

Having a quiet cleanup day here. Laundry is in the washer, agitating away. Am trying to motivate myselft to keep picking up, straightening up, putting away. Gotta go to the grocery store this p.m.

Nice day yesterday. At church with oldest son @0745, as he had a part in the 8:30 service. Dh and I helped w/music at the usual classes (adult, junior and primary 2), then attended second service. Towards the end of the service we were all herded into the almost-completed newly-renovated sanctuary, to sit in the new pews and take a gander at what's been done (as the music concluded w/women's chorus and a solo). It was nice.

Then we drove to Oceanside to visit w/MIL, and had our Christmas dinner @ IHOP!! It was good! And no dishes to wash!!
Opened a few presents at MIL's, the kids played their new GameBoy games (after Sabbath ), so they were REALLY quiet and well-behaved (wink, wink). Drove home around 2100. It was a nice day.

Back to reality. To everything there is a season, and now it's time for laundry, grocery shopping and getting ready for the work week.

Hope you all had a nice day, and be good to yourselves today, to prevent post-holiday letdown.

Thinking of Leslie, and others who have recently lost loved ones this time of year. Also prayers going out for survivors and families of victims of the devastating earthquake (and aftershocks) and tsunamis in Indonesia, Thailand, India, Malaysia, etc. Terrible, terrible. My heart goes out to them.

Just spoke with aunt in Illinois. Says she somehow got hold of brother earlier on in the day (here) and he said that Mother had caught an early flight and was outta there before this whole thing happened.

Wait till Father calls tonight - he's going to get an earful from me!
