Good Morning Sunday Feb 18th

  1. Happy Sunday "allnurses" friends! We are iced in here tonight in Tennessee. I hope it gets above freezing quickly in the morning because I am on call. The agency doesn't expect us to take uneccessary risks when the weather is bad but I'll feel bad if I can't respond. To those of you up North with 12+ feet of snow...God Bless you all!

Good morning! It's quiet here at work right now, so that's nice.

I never got the Police tix for my son and his friends. :-( I tried for an hour on two phone lines and the Internet. I finally went to bed at 13:30, I could barely keep my eyes open. I woke up a few times throughout the shift and then the next thing I knew, my youngest son was waking me up at 2200, "Mom, don't you have to go to work?"

So sorry you didn't get the tickets, clemmm . . ya done good, though: nice try, sleepy eyes and all. Hope the shift isn't crazy.

Thanks for starting the thread, Dutch! And yes, all who have to get out in the snow, stay safe!

Another frigid Good Morning to all !

Eighteen degrees, 40 mph winds and blowing snow. So glad I do NOT have to go out today. Staying home in my snugglies and close to the throne.

Dutch.. hope you don't get called out. When it's really bad out like this, I will ask them to call 911 if they think it is that important or emergent. If it's anything that can wait until tomorrow, then they should wait, if it CAN'T wait, they need to go on to the ER to be evaluated. No sense in risking your life to get there only to end up sending them to the ER anyway once you arrive. IF you arrive, that is. Most good folks understand that. I also let them know that with the weather conditions and ice, it would be a good while before you could get there safely, and they might reconsider. Please be safe, don't take any chances.

Grace, send us some of your sunshine !

Morning Clemmers, GardenDove and Dianah! Hope all who still pop in have a wonderful day. Guess I'll just hang out here with you all today.. feel like going back to bed and watch the snow swirl and dance. No talking about FOOD today, either!!!

Just wanted to add... Di.. those pictures you posted last noc were gorgeous! And the starfish ! Wow. How neat. Do they get washed back in or do they just lay out there and DIE ??? :uhoh21:

Had to get up about four x last noc.. of course each time I was just about to fall into a deep sleep. Arrgh. Then four more x early this morning. Haven't even STARTED on the gallon of golytely yet.

And dh is out there cooking up a good b'fast for himself. I hate him.

I almost cried when my doc said to take go lytely. You see, I don't drink a lot of fluids at the best of times, and there is no way that i can physically drink that much in a set amount of time. I just can't, the fluid won't go down and I begin to gag or worse.

He said I could take Pico Salex, fairly new on the market and much, much, much, much, much (did I say much??) easier on the system.
Well, he was right. I've had other tests where i've had to clear myself out (never with go lytely though) and the Pico Salex was amazing. What a differenc.

I'm the same way, Clemmers. Like you, I don't drink NEARLY enough.. I freak out when I see ppl with these HUMONGO tea or pop cups and containers.
And like you, I have to FORCE it down.. not because of the taste, but just because I don't drink a lot of liquids..except my beloved coffee, of course!

So yes, it is a real chore. I was suprised that it really wasn't as bad as I expected when I did this 6 weeks ago. Had no taste to it at ALL, really, and I completed the entire jug, somehow. I took some Phenergan before I started, too, so maybe that helped.

I'll have to remember the Pico Salex for "next time".
Probably can't get it here, though, right?

    Morning, Siri!

I love it when He paints, don't you?

If you're having coffee, I can have all I want of that. Might go fix me a cup of broth pretty soon. I need some calories to burn to keep me warm. I'm freezing and the heat is cranked up just fine. I feel like an ice cube.

What have YOU got planned for this lovely day? Hey! It's warmed up a whole degree to 19 now, and the sun is shining. Wheee.

Who painted that picture? It's gorgeous.

At my facility it seems like Go-lytely isn't used anymore. We alway give them Mag Citrate. I haven't seen Go-lytely in a long time.

his paintings are, what can i say, perfection.

o.k., in that case, netters; yuppers, i didn't want to hurt your feelings, but if you are having some of that won-derful black stuff and are cold; here's some hot cold blend, just right as a continuous infusion......

    and, for moi? :d
