Steph, I hope you fall asleep soon. Try reading an accounting textbook, lol!

I'm almost ready for bed myself, I treated myself to watching Vol 1 of 2 of the A&E production of Pride and Prejudice, starring Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth.

Goodnight, see you all in the morning! ---- D

    Hi Gang!!

Well, I'm at work too. So far, nite is npt so bad!! However, I'm feeling in a VERY BAD MOOD!!!:angryfire

I don't know why I feel so crabby. I was NOT crabby when I first got here. One look at the assignment & I guess I just got cranky!!How is it that I get admits EVERY nite I'm on & ALWAYS first admit. Then, we have another nurse who hasn't been here in more then a Week & STILL I get assigned to the first admit----the ONLY empty bed!!! So she gets none!!! Oh I know---that is just such a tiny thing to get upset about---but why can't we be fair & take turns???

"Oh just shut your month. my dear & let it go"-----That's what I keep telling myself!!!! It's not really a big deal; but a few other little things are also getting to me tonite!!!

I can't wait for it to be 0730!!! Only about 5 hours left!!!
However, this same nurse can NEVER do anything on her own. You know, we get an assignment & I just go along & do my thing with my patients. If I need something---say from Respiratory or the Pharmacy or whatever, I just call & do whatever. Not her----she can never do anything herself---always has to help from the charge. "Oh so & so---will you calll so & so for me"???
"Will you do this & this for me?"
That sort of thing. Never knows how to do things herself!!!

    I'll stop VENTING NOW!!!!
    I'll behave--I'll pick up my spirits--my attitude!!! I WILL!!! I PROMISE!!

On a better note, DH I will shop this AM for many of the grocery's for next week's party.

    The DVD is now COMPLETE!!!
    The collage is almost done.

I need to print out 2 banners that I have allready designed.

I have a question for you all.
Feel free to chime in--cause even tho II entertain a lot & have had MANY BIG Parties, I need some help here!!
We are having t his party for about 30-35 people. 2PM to 7 PM.
Now, I have having the usual snack foods---cheese, salami & crackers, chips, dips; guacamole & salsa & chips; a couple of cheese spreads & crackers, Vegetable platter, etc.
    Then, I'm having just a small buffet--Italian beef sandwiches, little sandwiches (all ready made from the deli); potato salad, three-bean salad;
keeping it kind of small cause it's buffet & people will be walking around, standing around; & I figure this will be easiest to handle; NOW THE QUESTION =---- HOW MUCH BEEF & HOW MANY LOAVES OF ITALIAN BREAD????????? My Sis-in-law & I are kind of thinking 10 pounds; You all think that's enough??? I have thisd ABSOLUTE HORROR of running out of food!! I figure that I will cut the bread into about 4 in. long pieces--cause that way, it won't be so much to handle. Do you think I should count on 2 or 3 sandwiches per person??? Even with the little deli sandwiches??

Dessert will be a HUGE Birthday cake, mini cream puffs & cookies.

Muffie--Hope your nite stays quiet; Thanks for starting the thread.

Dianah & Steph--hope you all get some good sleep!!

    Gang, PLEASE Help me!!!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!

good evening everyone! just popping in before i turn in for the night.
my sunday's been simply fabulous! dh and i went into the city to a market at the festival centre in the city. as we were browsing the stalls, we came across one selling aboriginal artefacts, jewellery, scarves etc etc. the woman in attendance began talking to us about one of the items on display. as she was talking i exclaimed; "gosh, you remind me of a friend of mine who lives in queensland!". i have a friend from childhood who this woman resembled, but she wasn't that friend. she just looked a lot like her. she replied; " well actually, you remind me of someone i know. i'm sure i know you. what's your name?" i began to tell her, and she broke out in the biggest smile and at that moment i yelled out, is that you, vicki??!!" she screamed back, "yes!!! grace!!!" we jumped up and down, embraced, laughing, hugging, besides ourselves with excitement!
thirty three years!!!! we hadn't seen each other since we were young nurses, all those years ago! it was unbelievable and just amazing! we'd been mates and colleagues all those years ago. we'd had such fun times and used to laugh ourselves silly. she was the only aboriginal nurse in the hospital and we were great mates in those days. she handed the care of the stall over to her offsider and we went and bought coffee's and sat at the cafe and tried to fit 33 years into half and hour! lol it turns out she gave nursing away and went to university and became a teacher. she's now an education manager at: unbelievable! i'm still on a 'high' at having met up with her after all those years. as is often the way in life, we just lost contact. i married and moved all around the country as a military wife. she returned to her people up in " the lands" in the northern territory, where she worked as a nurse on the aboriginal reserves for awhile before attending university to study teaching. she wants me to come and help out at 'tandanya', i'm thinking this might just be the thing i've been looking for! i've been considering some options for awhile now. perhaps this chance meeting with this old friend is the universe working it's magic! i'm guessing a 'white fella woman' would fit in ok with that mob! lol can't you picture it, me, white woman, being a tour guide or something, in an aboriginal culture centre! lol
ah well, weirder things have happened! we'll hook up soon for lunch. can't wait! i'm just so thrilled! i often wondered about her and have spoken of her to family and friend's over the years. i'm absolutely thrilled!

ok, now i've shared my great news, i'll wish everyone a safe and happy sunday! hope something as wonderful happens for you on your sunday!
    take care............

HOW MUCH BEEF & HOW MANY LOAVES OF ITALIAN BREAD????????? My Sis-in-law & I are kind of thinking 10 pounds; You all think that's enough??? I have thisd ABSOLUTE HORROR of running out of food!! You might want to try checking with a local deli or catering service and ask how they calculate how much meat you would need, given all the other items you have. They do it for a living, so they should be able to give a fair estimate. You could go with their estimate and add a little to be on the safe side.

As for your co-worker, I work with one of those too. I usually prefer to be the one to get the admit, so I don't have to do my work PLUS do half the admit for her too! Hope the rest of your shift went okay!
