Hello, I'm bored stiff at work, heard about co-workers ongoing marriage complaints, another co-workers new diet health regiem, scrubbed unit, did chart reviews, now what else can I do? Last night I was too busy with my new trache, MRSA, new colostomy, post code lady. Tonight, two sleepy stable stepdowns...

My daughter made friends with a girl whose mother owns a spa. The mother loves my daughter and really wants us to come to her spa! There's a positive!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh... a spa. How nice. Sounds like a deal !

Well, I'm off for the weekend.. offered to help out but they were ok as far as patient load. Just as well, since I've been working 14 days straight now (worked all last weekend).

But the extra $$ would help. Had to take my car for the 30k mile warranty work-up... that was over $300.00... then they found my brakepads were wore out down to the metal (imagine that! on these hills and backroads that was no surprise) and needed replacing.. another 200 something $$. Add to that the bills for my recent labs and polypectomy and the next one coming up... I'm beginning to feel buried under a mountain of bills here. Even with health insurance, it still adds up, doesn't it?

I was all giddy a few mos. ago thinking I was making headway and whittling down some of that mountain of debt, and here we go AGAIN! :stone
It just never ends, does it?

So I'll just have to help out on weekends as often as I can for awhile.. several mos., anyway.

While we were taking the car for its overhaul, we met with my dd as it was up there where she lives. Took her out for lunch and she showed us her new little house she just rented. Yes, she and her dh have separated, although on friendly terms. They make better "friends" than marriage partners. They've had ongoing problems for sometime.. have separated before they ever married, but thought they could make it work. Marriage doesn't change things.

Anywaaaaaay..her little house is adorable. Tiny.. more like an efficiency apartment, but it is a house nonetheless. Kitchen/living room combined, and one bedroom and bath.
Looks just like a little "cabin" with a huge front porch the entire length of it. Hayfields all behind it, woods in the front.. off the road hidden from view. Only 3 years old, all nice and new and clean, came with built in appliances including microwave above the range, washer/dryer.

The setting is soooooo peaceful. Out in the country, nice and quiet.. a little haven of peace for the spirit and the soul.

Can't wait for spring and summer to go sit on her porch.. birdfeeders, flowerboxes, and rocking chairs.. might have to get her a porchswing.
Has a small yard for her dalmation, who is her very life.

So that was enjoyable. She really likes it, and it is just perfect for one person and a furbaby. Now if she could only find a decent paying job.
It's so hard to find good employment around here, it really sux. I'd hate to be a young person again these days. Her rent alone will eat up over half her small paycheck.
Well, guess I'll tackle some laundry and some cleaning today. Whoopie!

That house you have just described sounds EXACTLY like the one I am looking for!

Yep, those deductibles and co-pays add up. I paid out almost $90 alone this week, when I had to have an emergency tooth extraction on Tuesday followed by my scheduled Dr's appointment on Wednesday. I just hope I don't get a catastrophic illness.

    Mornin' Y'all!

Jnette, I agree...I'd love a little cabin-like house like that if it was just me. It sounds wonderful, and I can just imagine a beautiful view all around. Sighhhh....I don't like the city.

Studying today....that's about it. Y'all have a great one!

I can't wait to go up again and get piccys. It is truly just ADORABLE!
It is sided in dark brown wood, and that long front porch with the pines and other trees in front of it (thereby hiding the main road below)...the open hayfields in the back.. just perfect! Really looks more like a cabin. And all brand new, even has that "new smell" yet.

There is a house or two nearby, one single mom lives just up the hill in a nice house, and one of her friends' Dad lives a mile up the road, too. So at least I know there are ppl nearby if she needs help in an emergency.

It's been a LONG time since she has lived alone, and as crazy as this world has gotten over the past decade, I will worry about her up there by herself. Not had to do that for the past ten years. She's a pretty sensible cookie, though, and cautious. She'll be fine.

I know I'll have to take some "me time" once and awhile when Mutti comes to live with us over the next 6 mos., that will be the perfect retreat. Go up there and spend a day with dd and just chill on her porch watching the birds, listening to her windchimes, smelling the freshly cut hay, sipping iced tea on a warm summer day. Lovely.
