Good Morning Saturday Sept. 17!

  1. Rise and shine, sleepyheads (unless you've worked all night, then GO TO BED for you!)!

OK, a poll for y'all to briefly consider: what's your favorite cold cereal?

I like Life. The cereal!!! (yeah, the other too! )

And granola (with oats, almonds, etc, yummy!)

I like Cheerios too. And Special K. And Wheaties. And Total. And Corn Flakes. And Shredded Wheat (the big, old-fashioned kind that I crumple up in the bowl, and upon which I sprinkle sugar to my taste!).

Oh, and -- I'm a little embarrassed to say, but it is one of my faves, although I don't indulge it much -- rice baby cereal!! LOL!! I mix it with milk and sugar till it's a creamy consistency! Ah, now THAT'S one of those previously well-kept secrets!!

    Have a good day!

    Hi Dianah

Well, if I was being bad I would say Captain Crunch. Did you ever notice when you eat too much of it though, your tongue gets sore . . .like when you eat too much candy? :chuckle

After that I'd say granola with almonds.

I just heard glass break and went all around the house looking and then looked outside - nothing. I'm the only one awake here . ... but the dog didn't even bark so probably nothing. We had a huge thunderstorm with winds late this afternoon and it blew our basketball hoop stand over . ..just missed our pickup. When I picked it up, water poured all over my head. That was fun.

    Happy Constitution Day!

    Hi everyone!

My favorite cereals lately have been the Kashi Go Lean cereals, surprisingly very yummy for such a healthy cereal. I also like the Smart Start Healthy Heart kind (the new one), very yummy.

You know that old Tom T. Hall song "I love little baby ducks, old pick up trucks .....". My grandma used to sing that to me all the time when I was little and when she would get to the part that goes "I love winners when they cry, losers when they try, music when it's good, and life". I would always say "you mean Life, like the cereal?" :chuckle I had no idea what "life" was, even though she would try to explain it to me. Anyway, that just reminded me of that. I love my grandma

Rain: Awwwwwwwwww, what a great memory of Grandma.

Some of the "healthy" cereals I've tried, from the health food store, are just plain awful! Cardboard! I see, though, I'll have to try the Kashi cereals (I like the puffed Kashi, too -- -only I sprinkle sugar on it too, lol!). Thanks for the tip!

I don't usually post to this thread, but I'm stuck in the family room, because my son is having a friend spend the night, and these two are just better off not left unsupervised. Sigh. I'm so tired! My favorite no/low sugar cereal is Cheerios (especially with sliced bananas). My favorite sugar cereal is Special K with Strawberries.

Oooooooooooo, I love corn flakes with sliced banana! YES! I guess I better get some corn flakes at the store soon . . . Thanks mercy! And welcome to the morining thread, don't be a stranger here.

I know what you mean about not leaving the kids unsupervised . . We still provide long-distance supervision (knowing whose parents will be around, giving approval for the kinds of movies they're going to see --- as long as they're underage, 'm footing the movie bill, and they live under my roof, I want to have a say, lol! I try to be reasonable, though.) . . the kids gripe but they have no choice. We try to give them more and more freedom, as they return responsibility . . . yeah, yeah, like the books say, lol!

I hope you can get some sleep tonite. I'm sure your son LOVES to have/go to sleepovers!

Yeah D, definitely check those cereals out, also the Smart Start cereals are tastey too.

I wanted to thank yall for the congrats and well wishes on my new job. I'm so excited!! To start with I'll be working in the nursery. Eventually I'll be able to move up to intermediate nursery, NICU, etc. But after talking for a bit, me and the nurse manager agree that I should start in the newborn nursery so I can get a basis for assessment and other things. I start on Mon. the 26th .... and I have hospital orientation that entire week.

Right after the interview yesterday I went to employee health to get my physical done. I had to get a tetanus shot and now my arm hurts SO BAD. I haven't gotten a tetanus shot since high school, but I don't remember it hurting like this. I've gotten shots recently (hep B) and it never hurt like this. Is this normal? My whole upper arm feels so sore, it even hurts to lift it. Not swollen or anything, just really sore, I can't even sleep on that arm.

Belated congrats from me as well, on your new job! My first job (30 yr ago!! ) was floating to the ICUs, DOU, M/S, Ortho, PP and nursery! I learned a lot there, and enjoyed it. I eventually was trained to work with the less-critical NICU kids. Enjoyed that too! I hope this job exceeds your expectations, and that you'll be happy working there!
