Good Morning ...Nov. 25th

  1. Hi all....can't sleep again!

Only working half a day tomorrow, but I'd been thinking about getting down to the 6am sale at the craft store before work.

    Maybe not.

I got a call at 3am from my office-mate...her father had a cerebral aneuysm blow....but fortunately his wife was there , called the squad and he regained consciousness at the hospital and appeared to be unimpaired except for a horrible headache. He'll be having surgery today.

Got a bit of a fright when I saw the Good Morning thread for Friday already. I haven't even put the dinner dishes in the dishwasher yet. Been too full, after pigging out on so much delicious food - including an entire pint of Haagen-Dazs blackberry chip ice cream!

Fluffwad, I'm certain you're not the only one thinking of hitting the sales early in the morning. Feel sorry for the salesclerks having to put up with all the crowds, but to all you sales hunters - have fun and hope you find lots of bargains!!
Sorry about your office-mates dad, but glad to hear he seems as O.K. as possible under the circumstances. Hope the surgery goes well.

My dh is working O.T. today, but I'm off for four days. Just love it. Nothing special planned but relaxing. Hope its a good day for all.

g'day from me!!! heehee, i got beaten to the post today! i was in fact, just about to get the thread started, scrolled down, saw that fluff had already posted, so.....
it's friday afternoon now, 15:56hrs. so, my day is fast coming to a close.
    but..... happy friday everyone! :flowersfo

this is what i've done on this magnificent spring friday in november: ....
    woke at 0500
devoured a bowl of cereal & juice
drove our son to airport with dh. son's gone to sydney for the weekend. plane left at 0720.
prior to leaving airport, i needed to go to the toilet. so, there i am, seated in the cubicle, next thing there's voices and movement outside. a voice yells out; "ok everyone, you need to leave the toilets, immediately! evacuate the ladies room please. please make haste now". then there was knocking on the doors, with the call to exit the toilets immediately. i heard people talking, people obviously moving expediently. then i heard laughter. by now i was both, concerned, confused (as it didn't quite 'gel' with me as a real evacuation. too many 'essentials' missing in the wording etc). and, i was really irritated, interrupted! and getting somewhat p***** off!:angryfire
since i was in no position to move anywhere right at that moment, and came to the conclusion it wasn't a real evacuation, but probably some lunatics playing pranks, i called out; " it is an indictable offense to create false alarm!"
more yelling to evacuate, knocking on, now my, cubicle door!
again, i called out; " if you don't cease this nonsense now, i'll have you arrested for being a public nuisance and creating a false alarm"
i then heard whispers and hushed laughter.
then.. silence. ah! i thought, idiots have left and i can 'finish' in peace.
that done, i proceeded to open the cubicle door...........

standing there, with the biggest, most mischevious grin on her face, was one of my former colleagues and friend! i mean, this woman is a charge nurse in ot in one of our major hospitals!! :chuckle initially, i was ready to sock it to this lunatic and was ready as i opened the door for whatever was outside the cubicle! on recognising her and overcoming the sheer shock of seeing her there and realising i'd been 'had!' i said; "you b****! i'll kill you! you mad woman! you lunatic!"
i almost died laughing! i laughed so hard that i had tears rolling down my face!
there were about two/three other women, unknown to either of us, joining in the prank and having a good laugh! :chuckle
all at my expense!!!!! :imbar :chuckle what could i do???!!! i just near collapsed in hysterics. it was one of the funniest things i've been caught out in.

how did it come about? ......
my friend, s, had run into my dh waiting in the airport for me. she was there to see her dd off on holiday, was with her dh and dd's, b/f. asked where's grace?
dh told her, and being the fun loving, madcap, rascal that she is, she decided to have some fun!!!!
lucky for her, others in the ladies toilets today, also had a sense of humour and thought it was hilarious too!

from the airport we drove to the beach. walked along the beach for an hour. just beautiful! mild spring morning, some cloud cover which cooled the intermittent sunshine. people were joyous and friendly. the dogs were happy, well behaved and friendly as they joined their masters/mistresses in play. everyone was alive, peaceful and warmly greeting each other. all of us strangers on the shore. beautiful!
after the walk; we took a table at the beachside cafe, ordered fruit salad, toast, and latte's for two. delicious, fresh food. magnificent birds and their song in the trees surrounding us. a calm and soothing ocean lapping the shore. other 'early birds' also enjoying their breakfast and chatter. pure bliss!
we felt so blessed and privileged. so safe. so peaceful.

after breakfast; it was into the city to the markets............
a world all of it's own, and simply fabulous!
bought fresh fish, fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bread. treated ourselves to some chocolate delights, yum! relaxed over a cold, ice filled, apple and peach drink in a tall glass, while we watched our fellow homo-sapiens go about their business.
then it was time to come home.

do you get the impression i've had as close to perfect day??!!!

hope also that, your friday is happy, peaceful and fulfilling!

sending best wishes to all! :flowersfo

Oh, Grace, thanks for sharing your day. I was able to visualize it so well and wished I were there also. Does indeed sound perfect.
Loved your response to the call to evacuate the toilet. She is lucky the other women didn't tackle her to the floor and call for security! I just love a good laugh.
    Enjoy your evening.

Oops - have to edit to say 'HI Donny'. Been wondering where you've been. Sorry to hear about your wife. Hope a cause can be found for her pain, and she recovers completely. Shame about the costs of it all. Do try to visit when you can.

    Good morning, everyone.

No sales for me. I'm off to work today. After my second worst Thanksgiving I can remember, it will probably be a relief.

DD started a huge ruckus yesterday morning and "ran away" for a few hours. She was at a friend's house and I knew it, but she still managed to put a big damper on things. We're working to resolve some of her issues, but it's going to take a lot of time with the kids.

So today, I'm handing in my resignation and going to take a few weeks off before hooking up with an agency to pick up hours here and there.

    Ah, well.

    Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Donny, good to hear from you. Hope your wife finds relief and healing soon.

Grace, what a great story. I'm glad you had a sense of humor about it all.

Kat, sorry to hear about your troubles with the child. Good luck with that.

I'm not going near any retail stores today. Maybe find an open flea market though. Tomorrow is going to be a flea market day as well.

I've got a bit of homework due tonight at might that I have work on.

Going to the gym first to work off a tiny fraction of the good food I ate yesterday.

    Good Morning from work!

Had a lovely evening with my family - great food, great conversation, fun just to watch my kids interact . . . two adult boys having adult conversations and then teasing their sis for bleaching her beautiful auburn hair and then playing with their little brother building a Lego helicopter. He was still a bit "puny" as we say in my family - not his usual self. But no sickness fortunately.

Kat - I'm sorry about your daughter . . . .consider yourself hugged from CA. I have a 16 year old who is challenging us . . .

Well, we have 4 patients, one RN (me) and one LVN and a CNA. Devouring the newspaper and ads is what the LVN and CNA are doing. I'm on the computer obviously -

It is raining here . . . .oh well, at least it isn't snow.

Just read the end of yesterday's thread and I have to say to jnette and Renee that I only use Velveeta for my cheese and salsa dip . . .it melts great in the microwave and mixes well with salsa.

I've never tried the mac and cheese recipe . . . .Tweety and I were just discussing the "South's" habit of including mac and cheese into T-giving and I had just seen Star Jones talking about it . . so I got the recipe. It is pretty cheesy . . .

How can a person be hungry after eating so much food just 12 hours ago?
