Good Morning Friday Feb. 11!!

  1. Just a quick note, as I need to get to bed. Greetings to all, join us, one and all, for any comments, recitations, suggestions, observations, philosophizations, musings, and just plain gabbing, here in the Break Room! (rantings and ravings allowed, too)

I'm a do-it-yourselfer for breakfast, so someone else please cook! Oh, on second thought, I'll make french toast with seven-grain bread, with lots of cinnamon, butter melting on top, and powdered sugar sprinkled over.

Dang, just drooled on the keyboard again!

Good morning. We're a nurse short, so we have no charge nurse. Naturally, the supervisor comes to me as if I'm in charge, "every ER west of Orlando is shut down and we just opened up, you have to move people around and take more patients". So I wake up a nice man, who is sick or else he wouldn't be in the hospital, and make him move to open up a private room. He's not amused. I tell the supervisor "next time, you're waking up patients and being the bad guy". Now, which one of us maxed out people are going to take this patient????????

Mary Ann, lets retire and play golf and gamble our lives away! LOL

Good morning, everyone. I havn't been to sleep yet. Itchy, scratchy, and Arthur are all having a heyday in my body.

    Question for today:

If anyone knows where I can get a soft, breathable cervical collar, will you please let me know? Mine makes me sweat, then it gets soaked, forcing me to remove it, and I know that isn't helping any.

Good night, Dianah. I'm going to go back to bed, take some Benadryl, and maybe that'll help me get to sleep and ease some of this awful itching.

I'm sorry you're having such an awful shift Tweety. Hopefully it'll be over soon, and you can go home.

    Here's some coffee.

Good night everyone. I doubt I'll be back today, but ya never know. and do have a good weekend.

    good morning peoples,

dianah, nice to 'see' ya. the french toast was luscious, with all that butter and powdered sugar. have a good sleep. :zzzzz

tweety, well, in my opinion, since you had to wake the lovely gentleman up to play musical beds it is only fair that someone else should take care of him.

fran, woo! hoo! glad you could visit - but sure wish itchy and scratchy would run away from home! sorry, but don't believe i've been introduced to arthur. doesn't sound like he is a very nice man though.
and, sorry, but i'm not familiar with any breathable cervical collars. did you check google? however did we live without computers?

i've been holding off on handing in my resignation as i wanted to pick the brain of someone who has worked in saudi arabia recently. so, now that i feel reassured i will be handing in my resignation today.
then am on call this weekend, so hoping it will be quiet.
now gonna read my book (am about 2/3rds of the way through) and try to get to sleep before dawn.
    hugs to all -

    Morning all.

I'm going to check myself into a medical center today - even if I have to crawl through the snow to get there (kidding. I'll call a cab).

Something is seriously wrong with me. No amount of medication seems to be helping. All I seem to be getting is sicker by the minute! I hurt all over, my eyes are watery, stingy and burning. My nose has gone haywire. My stomach feels whacked. My brain is addled. My back is numb...

Stay away from me y'all, lest ya fall sick too!

Laters.... I'm off to call the cab.

    good afternoon, all:melody:
[color=#008080]very quiet thread this morning!! rise & shine, all
[color=#008080]i was off last nite; thank you all for coffee & breakfast. but i think i'll pass & go directly to lunch; i think we're having tuna steaks & spinach today--remember the diet!!
[color=#008080]fran, i left a note about the collar on the other board.
[color=#008080]i hope by now the itchy's & scratchies have moved on.
[color=#008080]as far as arthur goes, well, i hope he's behaving!! arthur is also visting here & believe me he has been misbehaving for several days now!! pain meds just aren't helping, either!!
[color=#008080]tweety, don't you just love when these supervisors who just calmly tell you to move people in the middle of the nite?? they don't have to do the waking & take the verbal abuse that sometimes follows!! and then they wonder why the patient satisfaction scores are down!! i hust love when the patient refuses, too!! we have had that happen, too,
[color=#008080]yes, i agree, lets get out of here---------as far as the golfing goes, i'll leave that to you and my dh!!!:chuckle
[color=#008080]the man does love his golf!! he's at the "dome" even as we speak.
[color=#008080]diana, hope you got some good rest!!
[color=#008080]to everyone else who has posted and who has yet to post have a great day!!
[color=#008080]i'll see you all again, probably during the nite since it's my weekend to work!!!

Good Morning - never turn your back on a toddler. I just walked into the living room and found that my 3 year old somehow located a PERMANENT BLACK MARKER and decided to do some drawing . . . all across the hardwood floors, on the bathroom door, on the doorjamb in my bedroom . . . . .

And here I thought he was sitting behind me watching Dora . . . . I'm blaming this on allnurse's addiction.

Fortunately, I got the Clorox Kitchen Bleach spray and used it on the hardwood floor and after some scrubbing it came off - not sure about the finish though. I mopped over it with Murphy's Oil Soap - we shall see. The bathroom door and the doorjamb are permanent though.

As I've mentioned, my old house needs some fixing up . . . now even more. So, I may go off to the paint store shortly - I'm choosing "permanent black" for a color.

Otherwise - hello and Happy Friday!

Don't you just love three year olds.......... :chuckle

Good morning......or afternoon, whatever the case may be where you live.

I'm having a hard time coming back from whatever hit me Monday.......still no energy, still having to sleep a lot. Then this morning I woke up with left flank and lower abdominal pain; I think I'm trying to pass a kidney stone!! It's not bad enough to make me feel I need to go back to the hospital, and I do get some momentary relief whenever I go to the bathroom; right now I'd rate the pain around a 3 on the 0-10 scale, and it was a 5 when it woke me up this morning. But dang.........what ELSE can happen??!! I'm afraid to ask, because I may just find out!! AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!
