Good Morning Friday Dec 1

  1. Good morning all.
I am working tonight. One thing to be thankful for with severl inches of snow on the ground tonight is most folks are staying home.

I got to work tonight, only took me an hour to get here to discover I wasn't scheduled. Well the 11:00 person was more than happy to let me stay in his place. I just wish he would feel like coming in tonight when I am actully scheduled, he isn't. grrrrrr

Well the coffee is on and fresh, have a cup. Nothing here to eat yet.
Hope all who come in later stay warm today.
Siri, is it cold there yet????

    good morning all,

we are still getting bad weather here. it has been freezing rain and snow since yesterday night.

yesterday after work i got to leave (3:30) the weather is bad. my fil van won't start. i call him on my cell phone which is going dead, he gets a hold of his insurance co. (has tow protection) to get the car towed. that is about 4:30 the tow truck doesn't show up until 7:30. it is 9:30 before we get home.

dh had kids in quincy for dr.'s apt. he couldn't make it there until about 7:00pm.

i am so exhausted right now. i am watching for school closings which means i don't have to go in to work. there schools here in jacksonville are closed but not where i work my case. god i don't want to be out there on the road driving in all this stuff. if i have to get out please pray for me. the transportation dept. said the state highway is ice and snow covered and very dangerous.

i still have not had a chance to read yesterdays thread but i will try to go back and find out what i missed.

i hope everyone has a great day. be safe and careful.

i am going to go get dressed and look again for the school closing.

Stay safe to all those attempting to drive in the amazing weather we're having. here in the NE it's just rainy and windy...too warm now for snow but temps are supposed to drop next week to highs in the 30's during the day.

    i'm back!!:spin:

dh had a fit and wouldn't let me go to work. god love him. i would have gone even though we have 8in. of snow and under that ice. my drive is about 40-50 miles one way.

we couldn't get out our front door, the snow plows have not been down the roads not even sure if they have been down the interstate. our neighbor down the street has a 4-wheel drive pickup truck and he had a hard time getting out of drive and down the street. he just lives on the corner.

who was it that wanted snow the other day???? come & take all mine away

don't plan on getting out today. i don't go back to work until tues. i will have to call my main supervison on mon. and make sure that i still have a job and did not have today count against me.

i am going to try and fill out some online applications. i have one here that i need to fill out for the hosp. down the st. for part-time work. so i can get a second job. dh is still unable to find one he has been out of work since may.

hello to everyone that has already come sorry not to mention everyone by name. to those who follow: everyone have a great day and a safe one.
i will be on and off all day.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Is all I can say to you coldies out there & to echo the others in saying please stay safe!!

Here it's one of those grey, wet but mildish for the time of year kind of days. Middle son is supposed to be playing in his school football (soccer to some of you) team today. He was so rapt to be picked but now I'm not sure he'll get to play because there's a good chance the game will be cancelled.

Sad thing is he was playing the prep school where his older brother attends senior school & was really looking forward to it (they won 1-0 last year & he scored the winner!)

Last night was the first in the round of school Xmas concerts & MS played a piano solo, he was sooo nervous bless him but he did a brilliant job. He used to lack so much self esteem but he's really picked up these last couple of years thanks to his karate, which has really improved his confidence no end. I was dead proud of him for having the guts to do it. You're so much more exposed playing the piano because you've no-one else up on stage with you. He also sang in the choir & it was just lovely; the perfect start to the Xmas season. Next week it's DS turn for her nativity & then MS has his festival of 9 lessons & carols at the Church near the school & that's the end of term for them. Eldest breaks up the following week then this house will be lively & I won't get much computer time at all!!

Now I have to go find a suitable Xmas Avatar - check back later!!

Hi, suzyQ. Stay warm and safe.

ANGIE!!! So happy that you didn't venture out in the stuff. And, speaking of stuffing - if your job sanctions you for missing today - STUFF 'em. Hope you find something that is a good fit for you.

    good morning girlie,

    are these for real?

i suffer from arachibutyrophobia, cynophobia, and lepidopterophobia.
i know what they are and at first thought, hum, i'm afraid of peanut butter sticking to my thighs, afraid i'll crumble and end up with even more dogs (currently 7), then butterflies...can't say anything bad about butterflies...then i thought maybe she's just likes the big words...i hope that's it...phobia's are no joking matter...that's for sure...i hope all is well with you. i'm on my way to a busy day.
