"Monday morning blues is ok, if you happen to B B King
Wish I had a Lucile, who would do more than just sing

The day is just begining, and the traffic isn't thin
I fight my way, all the way, to the wrong side of the town.
And all this madness and violence, to try to make ends meet...

Good news! The rat has been found alive! :hatparty: :chuckle

My daugher's rat has been missing for about a week and the cat looked alot plumper than usual and so after searching for days for the rat, we all assumed the worst. Tonight dd was reading in bed and heard a scratching sound, thinking it was the cat. Looked under her bed and there was her rat. When she put the rat in the cage it went straight for the water and drank it all and then ate and promptly went to sleep.

So the cat is off the hook.

Only 5 hours to go on OB call.

Hope Monday is good for you all.

Good morning (although it is still Sunday night here). Listening to a story about a dentist who spotted a nail in a patient's head, of which pt was unaware. I am hoping that if I ever had a nail driven through my head, I'd remember it, but this dentist claims this was the second time in his career such a thing had happened. Sure am happy there's no school or work tomorrow, I just love sleeping in on the weekdays!

    Heidy-Ho, cyber-neighbors! Five posts already and it's 11:50pm here!!
Had a good time at Disneyland, just took things easy. They took the Fast Pass machines out from in front of Pirates ride. We talked with the gal at the Information booth in the main Plaza and asked WHEN D'land was going to get Fast Pass for the Matterhorn???? She said she hadn't heard they were considering it, as they'd have to completely re-design the queue area to accommodate two lines each side. The park did put out large umbrellas for the Miner 49'ers group that plays in front of the Grizzley River Raft ride in California Adventure, which was a GOOD thing! Last time we were there, there was NO shade, and even though the temp was only in the 70's, it seemed to be concentrated on that little patio area, and the musicians looked SO uncomfortable! So, I don't know if it helped or not, I wrote an email to D'land -- started w/compliments and ended with a few suggestions, one of which was to shade, if not the whole area, the musicians at least. Perhaps others wrote too, or the musicians themselves requested the shade. It's a bluegrass band, and dh ALWAYS has to go hear them. They're all very talented musicians as well as seasoned entertainers (much the same as the Billy Hill and the Hillbillies show at the Golden Horseshoe -- ALWAYS good!). But, it was a beautiful day, with blue skies and wispy clouds . . not TOO, too crowded, either, although dh and I only went on one ride. Just not in a ride mood today. But hey, I'm going to take the kids next Monday the 24th -- meet us there!! PM me and I'll give you my cell number! Just drive in for the day, ya know?? No worries, eh??
We talked with one of the cast members about the Sleeping Beauty Castle facelift. They changed the stones' appearance from a smooth stone to a rougher-textured one, with sparkles (like some granites). It's light pink in the upper sections, with the light colored stones below; actually, in the night lights the stones take on a pink hue, too. The turrets each have a blue shake roof and a gold spire -- and for each tower that has a "balcony" area, the spire is topped with a crown: there are five in all, one for each of the princesses in the Disney movies/stories. And, one turret always remains "unfinished," per Walt's original vision, that of the park always changing, that creativity keeps, well, creating new things for the park! It's always interesting to talk with the cast members, many of whom aren't the jaded souls one would imagine (having to deal with as many of the public as they do) -- but are folk who are very pleased to be working at/for Disney, and seem to enjoy interacting. This is not only the clerks, who MUST deal with the public, but the maintenance staff - custodial, if you will -- and the people who "man" the kiosks that sell food/drink and/or souvenirs.
Sadly, all the Christmas decorations are gone, but the flowers were BEAUTIFULLL!! When we entered the park the planters fairly shouted to us, with a profusion of yellow daffodils and red-and-white tulips, bedded amongst miniature pansies (what are they called????), and protected from crowds by a moat of dichondra behind a low wrought iron fence. Very pleasant , good for the eyes and the soul.
And then my non-thinking kids actually went on the River Raft ride just about 9:00 p.m., when California Adventure closed, so when we met them at 9:30 for a check-in, they were pretty wet. So we decided to leave. It'll be nice having the day off tomorrow, to finish chores and rest up for the week.
My PDA should arrive Tuesday!!! I'll then be trying to learn it, load it and download it! Yikes, and my mentor is in Wisconsin for inservice all week! Guess I just read the book and stumble around on my own for awhile . . . he did tell me it's not as complicated as a computer, that everything is just "there." We'll see. I'm a little more intuitive about computers than some people but I lack serious experience with set-up, so we'll see . . .
Off to bed, and to finish my murder mystery. Yes, I did take it with me and even parked my hiney a few times to read a little, and to people-watch. Nice and restful. Really!

Good morning! Spouse is safely asleep, stuffed with jerk flavored turkey breast, brown rice and green beans. All is quiet. I'm going to study a bit myself.

Glad spouse made it home safely. He's safe in beddy-bye, you're studying: all is well.

Dianah - your description made me want to go to Disneyland. We were in So. Cal in November to visit our son at college and decided not to go as our youngest is only 3 and wouldn't remember much. But maybe this Spring we'll do it -

Munching on Wheat Thins and Tillamook cheddar cheese. I can't sleep - still on OB call until 3 a.m. so it is hard to just go to sleep and know you may be awakened by a laboring mom.

Tweety - glad your meal went over well. What is jerk flavored turkey breast?

Thanks Dianah, I'm procrastinating as you can see.

    Good Morning To All

I'm at work--where else would I be!! It's OK so far tonite -- but not yet half-over!! So Won't say too much!!

I'm not in Charge which makes it even better.

DH wants to do some shopping after he picks me up in the AM.
I don't know, I'm all ready pooped!! I didn't sleep well Sunday. Usually DH brings be a cup of freshly made coffee when he picks me up; on Sun. I asked if he'd get me a latte from carabu coffee--maybe all that caffine did me in!! I don't know.

Diana--your note made me want to see Disney land--I've never been to any Disney park. I have a friend who goes to Disney World in FL at least once a year & stays two weeks. She says that next year she may switch & go to Calif. She absolutely adores Disney anything!!

Then I have another friend who loves Disney characters--in fact on top her her wedding cake they had Mickey & Minnie. She has two very large curio cabinets filled with Disney characters. She, too has made many trips to both Disney parks & has taken the Cruise.

Stevie-- I'm glad the rat was found & I'm glad the cat wasn't the culpret!!
Poor rat sounded very hungry & thirsty

Tweety-- Nice to have spouse back; i've never had jerk turkey; Have tasted the chicken once, but too spicey for this poor Polish girl!!!
    Happy Studying

Mercy, I had heard about that nail story--wow--i would think it was kinda painful--no?

Roy & student girl--happy studying to you both!!
You all have a wonderful day

    Thanks for breakfast
Hello & Good Morning to anyone I missed!!
