Good Monday Morning 05 July 2004

  1. Hope that everyone hada safe holiday..................
My new student arrived safely last night and busy getting her acclimated
to things over here. They actually opened a Korean place selling fresh tofu and Kimchi next door to the office. Plus many Korean restaurants in this building and area.

And none of you forget that today is Kim's Birthday. :hatparty: :hatparty:

Hello and enjoy your visit, Suzanne!!!!! HUGS!

Hi Suzanne - just eating a bowl of granola and getting ready for bed.

It was body fluid hell at work today and I changed into surgical scrubs and wore booties over my shoes until I left for the day. MRSA positive too.

Came home and stripped again in the basement and headed for the shower. Washed for a good long time. I have really started to wonder about whether we are all colonized with MRSA anyway?

My 14 year old daughter had trouble walking her sheep tonight. Fair is in September so we have a few months to gentle them down and she just got them but she is fairly grumpy and hormonal about everything.

Almost 3 year old was helping Daddy fix the logging truck and they both were laying down in the asphalt with son copying Dad. Pretty cute.

Haven't heard a peep from oldest son in Africa.

19 year old is supposed to be playing basketball . . . keeping fingers crossed.

Gonna head to bed and read and sleep the sleep of the saintly nurse who cleans up icky stuff.

(I liked the story about the prawns) :chuckle

Stevielynn, have a good rest and sleep . . . hope you hear from son in Africa soon, I know how we moms worry (no matter how old the kids are).

Suzanne, I love Kimchee (that's how I've seen it spelled here, but it's probably an Americanization of the word)! Sounds like a good place to eat! Hope your student gets settled in soon. Weren't you going to post a picture of your newly-buzzed dog?? The one no one recognizes any more??

More tomorrow, gotta get to bed. -- D

Suzanne, you just reminded me I have a bit of kimchee (that's the spelling on the jar I got at the Asian store here. But they probably spell it that way so we don't mess up the pronunciation) left in the fridge to eat. Love the stuff!

Had a wonderful day yesterday. Went to a cookout with the typical American food, burgers, hot dogs, fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, and lots of sweets. Then walked to the bay to see the fireworks which was nice. I never noticed the boats before but there were literally hundreds of boats docked in the bay to watch it from the water. That would be fun.

Have a great day. Jnette should be up soon to start her work day.

    Happy Birthday Kim!!!

Good morning. 4:30 am here. I have the day off but am heading to the gym to get in my session. I hate entirely too much yesterday and am going to make up for it today. I have a ton of laundry to do and I hope that I get some help from the family. I'm sure that after I get home from the gym they'll all be lying about the house doing nothing. That'll change. My rule is no TV and no going anyplace until beds are made and rooms picked up.

She looks like a new Yorkie puppy, especially since her hair on her body is still black.

She is just so little now without all of that hair that we have been used to.

morning all!!! man, did it storm last night! we made it to the fireworks just in time for them to start (one of the blessings of having lived down there and knowing some of the tricks). piper was terrified and shaking so violently that i took her back to the car. bryce fell asleep and trey laid right down on the concrete and watched them in awe. we were in the car no more than 2 minutes and it started to rain and by the time we got home and inside the house, a giant downpour started. you would have thought niagara falls was coming off our side roof by our back steps. we opened the back door and the wind blew and it was literally just like the spray from the falls! lol!

everyone slept wonderfully (except trey who was scared and came to cuddle with me) and piper is still sleeping. bry is off to his new job and i have just about everything ready for my mil. if you didn't see yesterday, the baby is here (so i'm a step-grandma again) and it's a boy. i know nothing else (no one bothered to tell me) so that's all i can tell you.

tweety......thank you. bryan didn't even remember this morning so the kids don't know either. our fireworks are over the water as well and there are lots and lots of boats all with their lights on. they also do flares all around the lake so if you own lakefront property you are pretty much expected to get these flares and light them. it's all very pretty.

leslie.......i can't imagine the patience you must have to work on that quilt. i have always admired people that can do intricate work like that. i am not "cut" out for it! lol! seriously, i did one quilt with really big pieces in my senior year of high school and it never did get finished. i gave it to someone unfinished and they were going to have it done. i admire you for the work and the love you are putting into this.

suzanne......sabrina is like a different girl! lol! cute little thing!

karen....i've heard fencing is a really good workout. is this true?

melissa....isn't it funny the rules we make? i can't leave the house today until all the beds are made, dishes done, just generally looking nice. it drives me crazy the whole time i am not here thinking about what i have to do ...... does that happen to you too?

    diana....how was your gathering?

steph...is it driving you crazy to have not heard from your son? still sending up prayers for him! do you live on a farm?

deb....you gotta do more than just pop in for "hi" girl!!! how are you doing? what's happening there?

zenman.....morning! how i long to see where you live.......

fran......i hope you are feeling better today, sweetie. i anxious to check my email and see if i heard from you........xoxoxoxox

    netters......kisses, m'lady.

i'll have to catch up with you all later. i'm going to check a couple threads and get my hiney moving. i certainly don't want to be late on the first day of class! so, i'm off to start my new life!!!!!!!!! whoooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

[color=#a0522d]hugs all around (couldn't have even gotten this far without you guys!).......
