Good Monday Morning 07 June 2004

  1. Has been raining on and off today. Had a great day in class today. Eight students were here for the morning part and four for the afternoon due to work commitments, etc.

Gave Austin a bath last night using my shampoo, conditioner, as well as spray-on leave in conditioner. His coat just looks so gorgeous. Think that I am going to change him and Sabrina over to human shampoos and condtioners because of the length of their hair. Much easier to come him out also. Sabrina's hair is already to the ground, especially with her short legs. She is like a walking dust-mop.

Had a new prospective student visit us today and I think that she is going to start within the next few days. And she already speaks some English so she will be able to join right in.

Hope you wake up to a sunny day on your side of the world.

Hi Suzanne! I wondered if it ever rained there! I always hear you talking about sunshine and nice weather. Speaking of that, what is the weather like there year round? Does it get cold? (I'm just full of questions for you the last couple days, but I'm so fascinated. Hope you don't mind!)

Fran...girl, I'm worried about you! I spoke with dh last night about me coming and I think I will be within the next couple of weeks. I am going to leave all three kiddos home with him I think so that you and I can just have a nice chat and they won't wear you out! He said it should only take me about three hours to get there, so it won't be a bad day-trip at all. I'm saying a prayer for you right now sister....I love you so much! Don't forget to check your mail.

WW...I think it's fabulous about your book and your friend's plan. She sounds like quite a woman. I wish that there could be a show about stories like yours for everyday viewing. I think I would learn a lot and then we could all share. I think personal stories almost always help at least one other person. I sure hope mine has in the past. I am sure that your will as well. I think it is just great that you could sit down and get it down on paper...I'm unable to do that for some reason. (just in a general form..no real details with feelings, etc.) Fran, this goes for you too...I think you guys ROCK!

It looks like it's going to be a nice, sunny day here today so I intend on spending a lot of it outside. I'll catch up here, make a few phone calls and head outside. I have some reading to do and I am really, really concerned about my memory lately, so I am going to do some refreshing of A & P and see if it sticks this time. If I can't remember anything very long, how on earth am I going to go to school and get anything above a C? I am really, really nervous about this, because it seems to me as though my memory has really gone to crap since I had the kids. I am hoping that maybe I can find some memory exercises online to try. Any other ideas out there?

Okay, I'm going to catch up! Have a good one!

    Hugs all around........

Good morning all. Having my first (and likely only) cup of coffee for the day, and as usual, here I am with you! Forgive me for still being in the pj's though!!

As far as your memory goes, Kim... I know what you mean. I've been doubting my own at times! But, I think you'll be surprised at what the human mind can do. When your brain is called on in a pinch, you'll be able to remember more than what it seems you can now. Something about being in a classroom does that to you. Or, at least, that's how mine is part of the time. Some things stick automatically, and some other things take time. Believe me on this on.... But, I think I know the difference now between the religions of the ancient Near East and who chose to worship which gods! At the very least, I know who Sekar, Innana, Nanna, Osiris and Isis were.. and Re and Ra are the easy ones! (Now I'm saying a prayer that I can retain this through the test today!)

At any rate, it's time for me to get dressed and get the kiddos around. Jas tried to help me study last night... I think I'd have had more help from a trained chimp, personally, but he tried.... Wish me luck! Dylan has a ballgame tonight, and I'm hoping not to have very much homework so I can actually enjoy myself instead of worrying about how I'm going to get everything done like last time.:uhoh21: Who knows, maybe I'll even manage to get home and be able to catch up with you guys! Or at least figure out what all's been happening over the weekend... you know I spent all weekend w/ my best friend, right? Yep... his name is Western Civ textbook.... Aaaaaahhhh... it's a love/hate relationship, that's all I can say...

    Have a good one!

It is normal to be hot and sunny all of the time, except that this is the rainy season. Even over the past few years, the sun will be out quite a bit, then cloud over and rain for about twenty minutes, then nice again, only today the sun has stayed hidden most of the day. Quite rare for here.

Our weather is hot, hot, and hotter. Just depends on what the humidity is like. Almost never less than 80s. 80s to 90s all year. In December it can drop into the low 70s-high 60s at night, but otherwise bright and sunny. I actually like the rain because of all of my plants that are outside on the terraces.

Mickie........Good luck girlfriend!!! I have my CPR class on the 23rd and 28th so we'll see then about my memory I guess!

Suzanne....you are really making it irresistible....I'm gonna be there someday for a visit!

Do you guys think that you get more tired on the days that you don't stay busy? I think that is what is happening to me these last couple of days. I gotta get back into the groove!

    Hi everyone
Just got back from my Microbiology lecture, tidied up the kitchen a bit, made another cup of coffee. Figured I would check on here first before I get busy studying for micro lab exam and sociology. *sigh*

Yesterday we had to put the heat on .... it was so damp and chilly. This morning it is sunny going to be in the 70's and zip right up to the 80's and 90's in the next couple of days. Humid too. I don't like this. From one extreme to the other. I personally like the crisp, clean air of fall. I can manage the heat somewhat but the humidity is a killer. Yech.

Glad to read everyone's posts here. Probably check back in later. Have a good one everyone!

    Good afternoon!
Busy Monday morning, as always. We are grey, cloudy & humid. Not too warm...give us a day & that'll change!

Went to see Harry Potter Saturday night. Good flick, despite the variances from the text. I discovered another sign of aging after the film. My knees really were quite achy upon arising after the movie. Of course, this was after having changed the furniture in my DD's room & going to an afternoon wedding (in heels, no less!), standing on my feet, etc. It took a good night's sleep to help relieve the pain.

My DD loves her new (to her) ladybug bedding. Now we are discussing how to repaint her walls. I may get creative & try to do a mural or I may just paint them white w/ red trim. We'll see how long my energy holds out!

Glad to see everyone here today! Make it a great day!
