Good Friday Morning 4/30/04

  1. AHHHHHHHHH....it's morning again. Crap! LOL! Another night of not much sleep. At one time we had Bryce in his crib for at least half the night but now, he is so fussy that he ends up with us the whole time. *sigh*

So, how is everyone here? Let's try this again:

Good morning everyone!!!!!!! There...that's better! I usually get up and get my coffee brewing before I even get on here. I have to have my first cup in front of my when I am typing to you all! It's just a necessity. How do you take your coffee? Do you like a certain brand more than another? I am black and the cheapest we can find which right now is at Aldi's grocery stores.

On the agenda today, it's supposed to rain later, so I am going to try to get the dresser done being sanded, along with the drawers, before the rain starts. Once it's raining, that's a perfect time to get my kitchen cleaned. We'll see...today's a do 'em as they come day. I can't really make a lot of plans. Thank God today is pay day, but it's also rent day, so there it goes.....wave bye to the money everyone.......

Well, I have a lot of catching up to do today and Brian finally sent me the thread with the history of all nurses, so I'd better get outta here! Love you all...big, fat hugs and sloppy kisses coming your way!

Leslie...I'll send on those links for smiley's today. I promise!

I'm also working on my first cup of the day.
I'm off today and have a honeydo list. Tomorrow is Robins birthday and we are throwing her a party. Now a party at this house can either be subdued with only about a dozen people or so or it can take on a life of it's own with 60 or 70 here (one time over 90 if we counted right). We never really know but we always ask that people bring a dish and byob. We also encourage folks to bring their bedrolls and stay the night. No DWI's ever, knock on wood.
So, anyway, I will be cleaning up and just getting ready. I'll have the boys stack some wood for the bonfire and do a general sweep of the parking area and the camping area.
    Good morning to all!

Russell...your parties sound like a lot of fun! Happy Birthday to Robin! How are your boys doing with the new arrangement? Have they gotten anything back yet from their room?

They were on track for a couple of days but yesterday they didn't do their chores and their homework was sloppily done. I had the 10 year old out scrubbing the walls outside the front porch til 8pm last night and the 12 year old mopping the floors. Now they are up at 5:30 finishing their homework. They will be on restriction during the party. They will be allowed to socialize but still limited to the house, front porch and back deck. It will be a bummer but I'm not caving.
Also it will be their job during the party to clean up prn during the party. Glasses and paper plates thrown away, trash emptied, offering things to guests...that sort of thing.
    Kind of like little servants
They are getting the point and are getting weary of sleeping on the floor. I'm noticing a change.

That's great Russell! I sooo wish I could do something like that with Trey to get him to behave, but we are waiting on his Dr. appointment to see if it is something to do with his tummy pain first. My husband would have a fit anyways. I have to just keep doing what I am doing I guess.

Hey, when we move to AZ we won't be "that" far from you so I expect an invitation to one of these great parties of yours! LOL!

When is your move and where in Az?

Oh gosh, we won't be moving until after I get my degree...so two years from now! We are looking at Tucson...I think it is safer, etc. than Phoenix. Any thoughts?

No more coffee for me. Been up since 1:00AM, went to the gym, power walked the dog, watched the movie Seabiscuit (which was good) and did laundry. Trying to wind down, will go back to bed soon.

I usually just drink instant, can be any old brand as long as it's caffeine.

    Good morning to everyone!

I'm kinda grouchy myself.....I know how you feel, Kim, about kids and sleeping arrangements......our 18 month old sleeps in our bed, and it's beginning to drive me nuts....then our 4 year old woke up several times during the night, and it took a while to settle him down, just sent the oldest off to school, so here I am on the puter for a while.

I haven't been sleeping to well.....ever since I found out I was pregnant, I stopped taking my Neurontin (for migraines), and one of the nice little benefits of the drug is you fall asleep faster and sleep a LOT more soundly, so the past several nights have been real crappy. I hope it gets better!!!!

And to top it off, I think I pulled my lower back at work on Wed night, I was helping a CNA transfer a resident from the geri chair to the toilet and ever since then my back has been killing me....I didn't feel it during the transfer, but I sure did afterwards. I hate it fill out a report.......I just started there in Feb.....so I don't think it looks good for me........"Yeah, I just started working for you, just told you about my pregnancy and look!!! I just pulled out my back!!!!" In the 9 years I've been doing this I never had a problem with my back! It's so frustrating! Hopefully a nice hot soak will help! Any other suggestions?

Rusty....good luck with your party! I sympathize with you regarding your kids, my oldest was just in all day yesterday doing chores and staying in her room for talking nasty to her brother.......also lost her speaking priviledges because she just couldn't get the nastiness out of her....so she couldn't speak for most of the night. She was better this morning though.....

Ok, I gotta go do some stretches or something....talk to everyone later!

Tucson is ok (for a city) but it is hot.
    The winters are nice.
When I've been to Tucson it struck me as funny that none of the residents had tans.
I mean, here you are in Az. and you can't tan because it's too hot to go outside much.
I think a lot of people do their outside stuff after the sun goes down.

    Tweety,
You have to be a coffee connisour to break that instant habit.
It's kind of like not drinking "Bud Light" anymore.

Morning Tweety! Do you work today?
Yep, it's my weekend. Every other weekend I work 3 12's Fri-Sat-Sun. So as long as I get a few hours sleep I'm ok. Lately though it's been tough getting those few hours.

Maybe for Xmas I'll get one of those fancy one-cup coffee makers. Spouse likes good coffee, only Starbucks in this house for him. He can't even stand the smell of instant.
