Good Morning! My dogs stomachs are still on the old time and they were restless starting at 5AM (thinking it was their feeding time of 6AM), so I got up. I've got some studying myself to do today as well.

I hope everyone has a nice day!

    Morning all!

Finally got the mess cleaned up. Downed trees cut up, glass in the windows replaced...we were pretty lucky. No damage to either vehicle. Still around 20,000 without power in this part of the state....hopefully back on today.

Was planning on a day of rest today...lol....but, since I didn't write that paper this weekend....that is what I have planned today. Need to make a wally-world run to restock candles and the like. Going to be a long, stormy winter I think. Sent DH out the door with a note pinned to his forehead...bring home small generator!

    Have a splendiferous day all!!

Oh yes....spacenurse...dung beetles ARE beautiful aren't they??!!

Wow, rninme.... you've really had a rough time up there! I'm so sorry for all your troubles. Still no power? How long has it been out? Dang. It was horribly windy here all week, the past two days were the worst. I think it's finally settled down out there now.

Hope you get things up and running again, and glad noone was hurt.
    (((hugs)))

    Hi Jnette

Our power came back on around 3am yesterday morning....trees that took it out were down across the main road in and out of here. Those linemen have a rotten job....out in the worst weather. Big hugs to all of them .

    morning, all.

goodluck with your test today, jnette - i will keep you in my thoughts.

i hope everything gets cleaned up soon and things get back to normal, rninme.

nothing much going on with me today. i have a curriculum meeting at school (1 sga rep attends each meeting) and then work. we start clinicals this week - i wonder what type of patient i will get? hehe i have very little experience working with adults - i'm more a fan of kiddos / babies so i think clinicals will be a little bit of a challenge.

well, guess i better get going so i can squeeze some reading / studying in before i head out.

    have a great day, everyone.

    cheers!

rninme.. I'm glad to hear your power is back on. Hope you can get caught up on your paper today. Yeh, those linemen do have it rough.
They get paid big bucks, though, so that might help compensate a bit. I wouldn't want their job, though.

    Morning Siri !

Well, the time between trips to the throne is getting longer.. another hour and I should be able to take a wonderful LOOOOONG shower.

Boy, will that ever feel good !

I'm goign to want to eat when this is over, but I just realized I might not be able to after all the anesthesia... sure don't want to have to puke, on top of it all ! Sheeesh. Can't win for losing.

    wow... check this out.

just found this. will have to post it on the geriatric/ltc forum, too.

    self-portraits chronicle a descent into alzheimer's.

below is the link to an article about the artist william utermohlen, who is now 73, who was diagnosed with alz in 1995. the portraits are currently being shown at the ny academy of medicine by the alzheimer's association.

the self-portraits that he painted while the disease progressed are truly remarkable. i'm not going to try to describe them. these pictures are beyond words. a true voice from within the alzheimer's consciousness.
