Good bye, Dr. Smith. I'll miss you...

  1. For those who didn't know, we have lost another great American icon, Jonathan Harris, the infamous Dr. Zachary Smith from "Lost in Space".

We seem to be losing all of them now, all our great actors from the past, and it makes me weepy. Then, again, I'm PMS'ing.

Good bye, Jonathan. I'll miss you

    Jonathan Harris dies

That is sad. He and the robot were the best ones on the show.

Black cohosh is an herbal remedy midwives and naturopaths use for many reasons; among them PMS symptoms. See your dr or naturopath about you know, I can't spell out what you should use.... They sell it at nature food stores and pharmacies. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon

. And that is A BUMMER ABOUT DR. SMITH....Lost in Space was one of my fave shows as a little girl. WAAAHHHH...

"Danger, Will Robinson, danger!!" Personally, I couldn't stand Dr. Smith--I thought he was smarmy.

My doc took me off of my HRT, Estrace. I am researching the use of black cohosh for my own use. Any info would be welcome.

I really liked Jonathan Harris. He was an outstanding actor especially in Shakepearean roles. His voice and character is unmatched. Lost in Space put him in mainstream, but if you've ever caught his earlier works in Twilight Zone and movies, you'll see his serious side.

Lost in Space would not have made it without Jonathan Harris.

And in case you didn't catch it, he also played the grasshopper in "Bug's Life".

I think I'm too young to remember Dr. Smith (or the "bumbling bucket of bolts")

    what is black cohosh??

Do you think it's safe to take these herbal remedies even though they are not FDA approved?

P.S. Did he die of old age?. I never liked the show anyway.

Shygirl......Jonathan died of a blood clot in his heart while receiving treatment for his chronic back pain according to the CNN article listed in Vegas' first thread. (I hope I read it right as I'm in a hurry right now) He was 87 years of age. What a tragedy, and such a shame as I loved him too. May he rest in peace as he brought so much laughter and joy to many who did appreciate and adore him as an actor. :kiss

I figure if the castaways had killed Dr. Smith and Gilligan right up front, they'd have been off that planet and island a WHOLE lot quicker!

    LIS was a great show.

I never really liked or watched Lost In Space, but someone posted this tribute today on an internet humor list I belong to, and I thought you guys would appreciate it:

No villain was more vile or verbose.
    Your malicious schemes, so grandiose.
    Always causing calamity
With young Will and his family.
Here's to you, Dr. Smith. Adios.
