Hi all. I've been following the thread daily but just haven't posted in awhile.
Jnette, glad to read you had a great time at the wedding, and am looking forward to pics!
This will hopefully be a lazy day for us. We did our requisite music this a.m. (the kids all sang well, as usual!), then to lunch with friend. Now we're home, dh is trying something out on the keyboard (midi stuff), oldest son is playing Diamond Mine on one puter (it's a fun, mindless game), and youngest just went over to the park to hit some balls and talk w/friends on the phone (it's a privacy thing . . .). Oldest son was at the beach w/class all afternoon yesterday, got home @ 9:30, and to bed around 10:30, so he's kinda tired today. Maybe I'll go visit a friend today; I need to deliver five boxes of books to her, ones I culled from the kids' room (ones they haven't read in years). Gotta get them out of the hall!!
I got to see a friend's current project: he's feeding two baby hummingbirds whose mama was taken out by a neighborhood cat. The little ones huddled together in their nest (made of spider webs, BTW!), gently peeped when they heard any noises, and were just SOOOO ADORABLE!! He feeds them a glucose mix with a 3cc syringe and an angiocath -- just dribbles a little into their open mouths, until the crop is full. They seemed to be doing well, I hope they continue to thrive till he can release them. Did I say how ABSOLUTELY CUTE they were???!!! <sigh> just too cute . . .
DH wants to go to the Southwest Bluegrass Association's annual campout nearby, for a little bit on Sun. We stopped by the campground Thurs. nite, so he could jam a little. It wasn't too cold, and he really enjoyed it. So, maybe we'll go again on Sun.
I want to go to the Renaissance Faire again, on Mon. I invited a friend, and have half-price tickets for this, the very last day of the faire. I figger to get there right at opening time, and if the crowds get too much, I'll just leave. I just wanted a chance to look around without kids, KWIM?
It's been really nice here, slightly overcast most of the morning, and warming to the 70's and 80's, with a few clouds during the day. THIS I can handle, and prefer, cf over 100 degrees when summer finally hits!
phn2, that strawberry pie sounds great! One of my faves is to eat the strawberries with angel food cake and whipped cream. And when I have no angel food cake, I love to dip the strawberries in the whipped cream and eat 'em!! MMMMMMmmmmmm!
Best to you all! I look forward to hearing about your antics -- you've certainly suffered through hearing about enough of MY routine days!!
Peace to all ------ D
