Going to a Party!

  1. This is why I only work part-time! I love the school parties! I just loaded boxes of goodies for the kids and the teacher into the car, and Brian finished all of his Valentine's last night! I'm so excited!

Hubby says I go a little overboard, and that I don't need to go to EVERY party, I tell him his mother was a non-involved hag and to get over his jealousy.

So, how many of you will be attending these classroom parties today?

Ah Heather!!! That is so sweet!!!!

I don't have any kids yet but I remember being a kid and making valentines and the little mailboxes that you would put on your desk and everyone would come buy and drop cards and candy in for you.

I even remember one year I got to wear the prettiest ruffly red and white dress for the party.

That is so awesome that you get to share those kinds of memories with your kids.

    Have fun!!!!!!!!!

My kids don't have school today not that it matters anyway *sigh* my kids don't like me to come around their school...HS seniors are funny that way.

I wasn't able to do a lot of parties (always sent stuff) when they were younger but I never missed a zoo trip, program or Mothers Day tea.

My kids' parties were yesterday and I didn't go. I used to go all the time. I got tired of being "dumped" on by the teachers. I was being called at home and asked to do so much!! I help out once in a while - it's fun, except my kids hang on me - literally HANG - while I'm there. And I have to bring the "baby" who gets out of hand sometimes (he's 4 now).

where my husband and I differ isn't on School parties, it's birthday parties.

He thinks that since HE didn't have a "friend party" every year, neither should his kids. I on the other had DID have a party with my friends every year as well as a "family party". I want to take the "baby" to McDonald's with his friends (he turns 5 on the 23rd). Hubby says Matt is "Too young to appreciate it." What do you guys think?

I used to get to do that when Jed was young. He's a senior this year and today is "senior skip day" so he called me up at work and said he was going to come hang out with me and have lunch. I'm so lucky to have a son who even at 18 wants to have me around!

Have a great time Heather! Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Never too young to enjoy a party and someone else clears up at McD's.Offer to have 20 5-year olds in the house instead...I think Hubby may come round to your way of thinking.Or,set Matt to whining and pleading to Daddy for a party.

This is the easy age to do parties, much, much harder when they are old enough to "appreciate it".

That is the sweetest thing! I hope Brian is like that when he's, you know, older. (even though I'm in strict denial that it will ever happen - HUMOR ME!)

OH! The party was a blast! Luckily the kid next to Brian was absent, so I got to sit at the desk next to him!

Now that we're all sugared up, I think we're gonna go out to eat and then see LOTR!
