Ghostly BB

  1. Just sitting here this evening cruising the BB and was beginning to wonder if ghost had invaded either my computer or the BB because things are acting a little weird. (Yeah, I'll go call the ISP later ) and yes, I know there were some technical problems earlier. Anyhoo, this made me wonder if anyone here believes in ghost? Anyone have any ghostly stories to tell??

Hi, Shamrock! I can't think of a ghost story right now, but I was
wondering what happened with the BB today. I haven't come
across the details in any threads yet??
I was on earlier today and all of a sudden.."server cannot find
this page". I couldn't access my beloved Allnurses for hours!!

I don't mean to hijack this thread, I apologize! Can someone
just point me to the details (if there are any)?

O.K....now trying to think of a ghost story!

I got one. My dad died about 6 months ago. He loved his dog more than anything in the world (even me, cuz King wouldn't talk back to him). About 1 week after he died, me and the kids were watching TV and King was curled up next to me on the couch. All of a sudden he jumped up and went to the hall by the front door. He was looking up and wagging his tail. He had his head in a position like someone was scratching him under his chin. Then he stopped wagging his tail, took a couple steps forward and then turned around and came back to me on the couch. I was sooo freaked out but kinda comforted it by it at the same time. I know I sure believe in ghosts!

It's not ghosts, I believe it is angels. That is more comforting to me. I've had a few expereriences too!

had a boyfriend once whose dad shot himself at home. about a year later, mom started dating again, and weird things happened. when his moms new boyfriend moved in, the house caught on fire. They took pics for the insurance, and in the pic was a silloette of a man standing in the middle of the burnt to the ground house. couldnt make out a face, just a dark shadow. He swore it was his dad. Creeped me out when I saw it. Then he started creeping me out. (why hes an ex-boyfriend).

Ghost story #1: I was about 13 and my family was having dinner at my Grandmother's. About halfway through dinner, I heard this strange cackling laugh coming from the hallway. I asked what it was and no one in the family had heard it except for my cousin. He promptly answered that it was a banshee. For those of you who don't know, a banshee is an Irish spirit (I think it's Irish - if it's Scottish, please forgive me!) that foretells a coming death. No kidding - two days later my great-aunt died very unexpectedly in her sleep!

#2: I'm celebrating my 16 birthday with some friends. We play with the Ouija board. Supposedly we're talking with a teenage ghost who is outside riding the horse. We look outside and sure enough, the horse is riding around the run and its mane is bundled up like someone is using it to hold on. We then asked for a "sign" that you're here - mind you the remote is on top of the TV and there is no one else near it, the candle is right in front of me and my friend's mom. The TV comes on, the candle blows out. Mom didn't blow it out and neither did I! As soon as the smoke stopped rising from the freshly blown out candle, it was re-lit and the TV was turned off. At this same house, there is a ghost named Jeb. He has his favorite bedroom where there is one of those chairs that hangs from the ceiling - not wicker, not bamboo, not papasan but sort of similar - you guys know what I'm talking about - real popular during the 70s - if you sit in this chair, he'll gently push you. There is also a clock that faces the mirror. If you turn it around to face you (no matter where on the dresser) you can watch it turn around again to face the mirror.

#3: I'm living in Vienna. The building I lived in was once used as a hospital during the war. I'd heard strange tapping sounds and dismissed them as the pipes until one night I woke up to my blanket being lifted off the floor and back on to me!

#4: Yorkshire, England: we stayed in a haunted house - the ghost was very playful - you'd plug in an appliance, it would un-plug it. You'd close a door, it would open it, etc. I never was frightened, just amused.

#5: My current house: I woke up one night/early morning to see a man standing by our bed, looking down on my husband and I. He didn't frighten me - he was grandfatherly and was looking at us with concern - as if he cared about us. I described him to a friend - tweed looking driving hat, tweed jacket - elderly gentleman. She went pale and informed me that that was the "Dunbarton Ghost" - a man who chooses families to look in on and to watch over/out for. I've felt him several times since then and my dog goes absolutely crazy about the same time, but I've never been frightened - rather comforted.

So, now that you all think I'm crazy and belong in the nearest mental home, what are your stories?

Oh - how about premonitions - anyone ever have those?

I have and have gotten in the habit of telling others so that when they come true I'm not absolutely crazy! It's rather frightening when you realize they are coming true. Thank goodness they're only trivial, but I'm still afraid that one day the nightmare-ish ones may appear and then come true.

Ok, I'm completely creeped out now! Thanks I am home alone, it's dark outside, and my neighbors are only home during the summer. Thanks again

The only "ghost" thing I can remember is when I was about 12-13... I was awoken from sleep by this white lab type dog licking my leg. As soon as I woke up, I briefly saw him, and then he was gone, but my leg was numb.

I do!! And I've started telling people "just in case"!!! So many times I've told people things AFTER the fact - doesn't carry much weight but if you tell them BEFORE you have "proof"

    It's happened several times.

I dream stuff about events/people quite often that happens in "real life". If I have a dream that is really clear I write it down - just in case!!!

About a week ago, there was an empty room at the LTC, and the Call light went on. I went in there. It had just been pushed in! Then I came back in 5 minutes to see if anything changed in there, and sure enough. Linens and pillows were thrown everywhere.

we have a room on our floor that a baby was in for like, 8 months before she finally passed on. Every now and then the TV will turn on, or the radio. We figure it's just her, making sure we don't forget about her. :angel2:
