I just need to vent a little, I am so sick of getting ripped off by mechanics. The mandatory state inspections are good to catch major things but how do you know if you can trust a mechanic? It seems they nitpick until your bill is sky high.
when I took the truck to a different mechanic they said that it did not need the part that the first one said. I am so glad I didn't let him work on the truck. I feel so stupid when it comes to mechanical things and I don't know if I am getting ripped off or not. The first mechanic was going to charge me $140.00 for a part that cost 7.99 !!!!! How does he justify that? I went to the auto shop and bought it myself, they told me where it was located and 4 screws later I had back up lights !!!! ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Sorry, I am babbling, just so mad.
