My car is equipped with Bluetooth, which enables me to hear phone calls and other audio from my phone through the car's speakers (my car is a 2008, I can only imagine how much more upgraded cars are nowadays, lol). So listening to radio stations from across the country in my car is normal for me (even living in NY, you get tired of the same old stations
). I use the iHeart radio app (it's free), it has a very nice selection of radio stations from around the country. I used to live in Central Florida a couple of years ago, and I regularly listen to a smooth jazz station I miss out of Orlando. Then at the flick of a button for kicks I can listen to a traditional Hawaiian music station out of Honolulu. It's really kinda surreal hearing Hawaiian DJs with the Empire State Building in your rear view mirror
For those of you that don't have Bluetooth-enabled audio in your car, you can get a good compact Bluetooth speaker with good audio. I recommend the JAM speaker, which I have and use at home but has good punch for a car. It's rechargeable, so you don't need to keep it plugged in, and the underneath has a rubber grip that looks like it could stay put on a dashboard. I have not tried it yet, but I think it could also fit in a cupholder. They are cute speakers, and come in different colors. See website below, but that's just for reference. I would buy it from Amazon or another retailer that sells them for much less than $49.99 (I think mine was @ $31 after applying a 20% off coupon at Bed Bath & Beyond).
