I remember reading about these two several years ago - but I have never seen video. The articles choked me up but the video? I just am absolutely speechless...

What a beautiful gift this father and son have given each other - and what an inspiration!

    Thank you!

I have a good friend who is now an e-mail pal.
When she was just hous old she stopped breathing and turned blue. Her mother yelled and a nurse "turned her upside down and pulled out a long stringy bunch of thick mucus." as her Mother told it.
Diagnosed with CP and mental retardation her parents moved to California because of a school for kids like her.
When she was six her dad got an electric typewriter. We lauged as we made up a poem in perfect iambic pentameter about the faults of her older brother.

Her Dad had to take that typewriter to school so she could take a test because all the office was manual.
She scored an IQ of 135! At age nine.
The following wear she had surgery to relieve the "scissoring" of her legs so she could walk.
I got to have a vacation at their house that summer when I was 13. Because she was small and cooperative I could lift her in the bathroom so we did the zoo, Disneyland, and movies without any adults. Once her Dad carried her onto a blanket at the beach. She c/o itching under her casts.
I was blowing into her cast at the ankle when two young surfers stopped to look at us.
    We laughed so hard!

Now she has moved to Canada so she can work and have healthcare. She delivers clean linens and good cheer to patients at a childrens hospital.
Still most people can't understand her speech and she drools if distracted.
But she writes articles for the employee paper with one finger.
And sends me jokes every week.

How many sons long for their Dads attention?
They are truly fortunate to know such father-son love!
