    Holy crap!!!

Yeah, methinks I'd be having a serious talk about that with my dear offspring!

What?!?! Good grief, I could get a roundtrip ticket to my favorite destination for $700!

My senior pics cost me $50, but I only did one pose. I hate having my picture taken.

I would definitely be asking some questions. She had to have bought tons of photos. I hope you have lots of friends and relatives so you can get rid of them all.

Or just put them in this year's allnurses.com Christmas card.

The cost is usually about $500 . . . the fee for the staging of the photos . .. . the photographer went to our ranch and spent about 2 hours with my daughter taking photos. So, I expected $500. That is about what my two older boys senior photos cost. They also took their photos outdoors. This photographer is pricey and good.

But . . . . . there must have either been a huge price increase since 2001 and 2003 . . .or dd ordered a bunch of photos. I've got a call into her cell phone . .and left a note in her car at school.

She'd better get that job she applied for . . .:uhoh21:

The friends get the wallet sizes! Larger photos are for parents and grandparents.

I know . . . . and the truth is, these friends from high school will not keep an 8X10 on their wall as they move on with their lives.

    Sheesh . . . .

Wow. I'd certainly be having her pay for these (the ones she ordered for her friends). Would be the first deduction out of her paycheck each and every week until paid off. She neglected to ASK you (and/or dad) first, and simply took it upon herself and just assumed it was cool.

    Wrong. NOT cool.

I would be highly upset, as well. Kids these days really do think money grows on trees.

Once she has paid you back, perhaps she will have learned the value of hard earned $$ and be a tad more cautious next time before just "assuming" things or taking her parents and thier hard earned dollars for granted. Seriously, if that were me, it would be no buying makeup, no magazines, no new tops, jeans.. whatevers.. NADA.. until that extra $200.00 is paid in full. :angryfire

And you've got THAT right, too!

$700.00 for school photos. OMG. That's just criminal.

Can't remember what our kids' were but I can guarantee they were no $700.00 !!!
    Or nowhere NEAR that! OMG.

And they were done in school. If I wanted around the farm or ranch pics, I'd be taking them myself. Parents are suckered into believing these things are sooooooooooo important, like it's mandatory or something.. part of the education itself... can't graduate without it!!!!

No wonder we stay broke all the time! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh !!! :trout:

A friend who is a prof. photographer (doesn't do portraits, usually) took some piccys of my son for his sr yr.
    Charged us $100.
He emailed me the five best, I sent over to Wal*Mart which ones I liked.
Had those printed (yrbook needed a 5X4).

    $700 is nuts.
$500 is nuts!! (but maybe that's "the way it is")

So sorry for the $$$, and agree she should pay the am't over what you were prepared/expecting.

$700 for senior photo's (around here) is very reasonable. I was blessed my son wasn't interested in getting any. We only got the school senior photo's. 2 8x10's and 20 wallets were over $200! My daughter did but only purchased the 5x5 proofs. I don't remember how much that was 1999. But it was reasonable.

I would either have my daughter pay at least $500 of the $700 or talk to the photographer pronto! Good Luck.

Kids do not realize the value of our money but they sure know the value of their own money.

My daughter used to be so willing to spend my money but once she got a job she was very frugal with her own money.
